I also would give zero stars or less if it were an option. This company is absolutely awful to work with: they lack professionalism, their craftsmanship is embarrassing, and they use questionable practices. Be sure to read every document you sign very closely and even get an attorney involved. They will make you sign a document stating you won't get earnest money back no matter what, and they may make you sign a document at closing releasing them of liability of honoring the warranty. The house that was supposed to be purchased but didn't end up closing has faulty doors and door hinges, bathroom fans did not work, and the emergency switch on the furnace was blocking the furnace filter door so you wouldn't have been able to change the furnace filter. They refused to address any of these items prior to closing, and then required the signature of a release of liability at closing releasing them of any responsibility and stating the property was being accepted as is when it wasn't. I can't believe they are still allowed to operate and that people still buy from them. When asked to fix the items that weren't functioning properly, the representatives from the company berated me and told me I was the problem (gas lighting much?). It was an awful experience.

If Zero stars was an option I would have went with that. Save yourself the trouble and never consider a home built by Green Tree Construction. My island counter top almost crushed our son because it wasn't properly secured, the clothes rack in the walk in ripped off the wall when we hung our clothes on it, our concrete driveway has a crack all the way across it already . Shoddy to say the least.

We would not go with this builder in the future. Their website talks about how kind they are yet we have been met with rudeness from the moment we closed on our house. During final walk through a few items were listed and they promised to address, yet here we are almost a year later and we STILL don’t have two doors we were promised. We waited from October until February to inquire on the status of the doors and were told that we were harassing them. I do not recommend this company and the owner will lie to your face until closing on the house and then be mean and not meet her promises. We do not have autoclose on the garage to house man door even though it is required by law. We have a smoke detector basically IN the kitchen so it goes off every single time you cook anything. Because the vent also just vents into the house. Having built a house with our own hands before we are used to working with an inspector and know requirements. The placement of this smoke detector is stupid and NOT required. Just an annoyance. The people they employee do not care about the quality of their work or kindness to existing neighbors while building more houses. For instance, about a month after we moved in a ladder was placed outside our master bedroom window and the man climbed onto our roof to take measurements for the house they were currently building. I felt vey exposed having someone just come into my yard anytime they wanted and peek in my bedroom window before tromping around in my roof. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. RUN AWAY QUICKLY.

Absolutely HORRENDOUS customer service and cheap homes. DO NOT GO WITH THEM.
