I bought a ski boat from Sun Sport Marine in July of 2022. Tony and Dave have provided excellent service. They tested the boat on their local lake before I picked it up and it was running well but it later developed an engine problem. They drove 45 minutes to our lake cottage on three separate occasions to repair the engine until it was running well. They did not charge me. They have promptly answered my multiple calls and emails. They gave me a lot of good advice on boat lifts, maintenance, equipment, etc. I have already referred a relative and a friend to Sun Sport Marine.

I am posting this as I might do a BBB complaint as I think the owner of this company should not be in business! The BBB and the news help stop people like this from scamming and operating a business when they clearly should not be a business owner. They state: Sunsport Marine is composed of a well polished team of boating enthuistists. We hand pick every preowned boat we sell. Each boat goes thru a mechanical and cosmetic checklist and inspection Although I went to look at a boat, it had oil sitting on top of the intake in a pool of water, the batteries were dead, and I scheduled a boat test on the water at 1pm. The owner Tony never showed, then sent me an email at 8pm stating he took it out on the water on a small lake for a test and the there was a problem with the boat and was waiting for parts. Couple things wrong with this: 1) they state that each boat goes through a mechanical and cosmetic checklist and inspection which obviously is false advertising as they do not. 2) After knowing they obviously false advertise I was still willing to give them a chance. I took off work to be stood up and no phone calls. Why would you stand me up for a water test to test the boat yourself only to email be 7 hours later to tell me the boat is broke and now you are waiting for parts? You advertise that each boat goes through a mechanical checklist and is tested and hand picked? This is the absolute definition of false advertising! After looking and searching over the internet they have horrible reviews all correlating the same experience's I have had! Learn from our horror and stay away!

Do not trust this guy, Mr. W*****. Took forever for him to get us the boat hours. After driving an hour for our scheduled appointment to see the boat, he still did not have the boat hours number. He said he did not have his computer today. Most salesmen have their computer available to them at the office or could call another employee to access the file. First red flag. When he finally did get the hours, in order to do the water test, he wrote up an offer that we had to sign and I expected to negotiate the sale. He said he had told us it was a firm price, but that was a lie. Second red flag. Also, he had a small trailer on it, which was not adequate for the size of the boat and I suspect it was not the trailer that was traded in with the boat. Third red flag. His offer swapped the smaller trailer for the right trailer for an additional $1700. Such a scam! We walked out, never to do business here again!!!
