First off I'd like to share that we made our reservations 2 weeks prior to our stay at the Best Western Bridgeview Hotel in Superior WI, when making those reservations we were quoted $108 a night. Upon our arrival at the hotel for check-in, that was not the case. The rate changed from $108 a night to $269 a night even though they had emailed me an agreement with the stated quote on it. I asked to see or talk to the manager and the front desk gal refused to put me in touch with her manager and told me she wouldn't be available until Sunday morning. Seems a little odd to me that an "on call" manager couldn't be reached at the time. I reached out to their corporate office and shared my experience with them as well, and they agreed with me that the on call manager should have been called immediately regarding the situation. So, we did not stay at the hotel, in fact it took us almost 3 hours to find another place to stay for the night between Superior and ******. In the end, we did settle at a sister BW hotel across the lake over in ******. I had told the front desk person at that hotel what had happened over in Superior at the Bridgeview Hotel and he said the same thing, that he would have been upset too if he were in my shoes. Given the situation at hand when I spoke to him, he was nice enough to accommodate us at a lower rate per our experience across the lake. We were supposed to be staying 2 nights and were there for a couple different things while we were there. We ended up cutting our losses and headed home the very next day. I am still kinda upset about it due to the fact that we wasted money on tickets for an event we have been looking forward to doing for a while that we did not get our money back for because of a mess up on the hotels side of the whole thing. Money that wasn't meant to be spent was spent because of the situation. We were already on a tight budget but the situation made things even worse for us in the end! Thanks a lot Bridgeview BW!
