I called this HVAC company to take a look at my furnace that was blowing cold air. I spoke to the owner **** to give me a diagnosis. He came for a service all on 12/4/23. I was not at the home but my adult son was when **** came by. He quoted me for parts and labor for new circuit board and other things. I paid $126.72 for his service fee. I told him I will think about my options. After **** left, I video call my son so see if everything was put back. I noticed **** did not put the filter back. I had my son open the furnace panel to see if there was anything else loose. There was a loose red wire hanging from the circuit panel, which was not like that before. **** took out this hot wire and left it hanging. He never had authorization from me nor did he informed me he had tinkered with the wiring. I believe his actions were intentional and malicious to get us to fix or replace our furnace.I immediately called **** and asked if he took the wire out. He admitted to this. He did this as a "safety precaution" because it was dangerous for us to keep running the furnace. Yet, he never notified me nor my son of his actions when he went over the other issues with me. I explained that it would be more dangerous to leave a live wire like that. I was upset he did something like this with out authorization from me. I asked **** to return and put the wire back the way it was, which he did later the same day.Base on this experience I do not trust him or his business. He failed to notify me, or had my authorization to tinker with the wires, which nulls his diagnosis of my unit. I believe his intentions were malicious and wanted to cause damage to my furnace to get more business. He also made it more dangerous by leaving a hot wire exposed. Someone could have been hurt the wire touched the metal panel. If needed, I have pictures and text messages that will corroborate my statement.
