First of all, this is not a licensed general contractor. This company has been in business 2 years and is not accredited by the BBB, Better Business Bureau. I'm starting with this because anything relating to doing Plumbing or Electrical work, or installing egress windows in a basement requires permits. Why....because there are a lot of unlicensed contractors in ********* that do bad work and by pulling a permit, the city inspector has to come out to check the work to make sure the contractor charging you money knows what he is doing.Next, this guy, quoted me $11000 for a job and wanted $8000 up front.....huge red flag. Why you ask, because and I quote ******, I'm a small company, I cant compete with multi million dollar companies. ******, was at my condo when I told him over the phone I was not going to give him $8000 up front. I told him I will give him $2000 up front, and make progress payments based on his work, he argued with me for 10 minutes, whining about how hes a little company and has only been in business 2 years. He was doing demo on my bathroom, he removed the shower, toilet and vanity, but only disposed of the shower, he basically left after I gave him the $2000.Because he was supposed to do plumbing work on my condo, the hoa requires a weeks heads up to shut down the plumbing stack in my building. He did the week notice, but never showed up. My wife called an texted and he gave us numerous excuses ranging from he was sick, to my wife didnt pick out materials.....which he was supposed to meet her for, and never showed. The last excuse that he didn't think the As I write this, he has ignored my wifes wishes to get the fob to our building, keys to our condo and the balance of the deposit back.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I tried to reply to the contractors response and I was not able to. I read his response, which is 100 percent false. I never signed a contract with him, he emailed me a contract for $8000, I called him and said Im not going to give him an $8000 for an $11000 job. My wife had given him my credit card to charge $2000, it wasnt until later, that I found out he tried to charge $8000, which I never authorized, or signed saying he could. The credit card I gave him purposely had a low limit so he could not charge me $8000. The materials we bought ourselves, I have all the receipts. My wife asked him for his help on what she was supposed to buy and he never helped her at all. He charged us the $2000 from our condo, we gave him our key and and fob to our building. We expected him to demo our bathroom, dispose of everything, help my wife with what she was supposed to buy, then redo the pipes in the shower to build a new shower. He did not do any of this, he pulled out the shower, and vanity, but left everything there, and a mess. Once he got his money and we were not there he left and never came back. We called and texted everyday and he would say hes sick, or hes working on another project. Our condo bilaws require that we give 1 week notice to the hoa to shut down the plumbing stack, which he gave notice, but never showed up. We had to hire an emergency plumber to come, who told us, you know you need permits for this, which ****** never offered. When we asked ****** where he was, why he didnt show up, he said he didnt need to, there was no reason to shut off the water for all 3 units. Keep in mind there is 1 shut off in the underground garage, for all 4 units to shut off water. We were changing all the hot and cold pipes in the bathroom. It doesnt take a genius to know that if the water is not shut off and you start cutting pipes, the water is going to flow out of the cut pipes until the main shut off is turned off. In short, I never signed a contract, the nonsense terms are convenient to his response, but not in the contract he emailed me that I didnt sign. I can email you that contract if you like.
Regards,

Sorry for the delay I broke my foot the same day we spoke late on! You can see they didnt have materials for me to even do more work after the demo, how I followed up with no response multiple days, then the weekend they just blow up and decided to fire me when they never grabbed anything and breaching their contract doing so.
