  Had the roof replace on ******************************************************************** the attic, mold issues, underlayment warping, loose and flapping around ridge vent, cupping shingles, nails exposed, etc. All of this will lead to water leaking so it has to be taken care of as soon as possible. We have had roofing companies come and confirm these issues are due to poor installation and use of wrong materials like the wrong size nails and the wrong ventilation system, etc. On the contract there is a 2 year warranty for poor workmanship but after 4 years of the work being done we feel that the company should still stand behind their work and still be held accountable since this work is supposed to last at least 20 years or more. We did contact them and they refused to at at least come and take a look at the damages.

  When we began replacing the roof, we noticed that several sheets of plywood were damaged due to moisture as a result of inadequate attic ventilation. We pointed this out the homeowner, and to his insurance company and recommended that all plywood sheeting be replaced and that the attic insulation and ventilation be remedied to prevent it in the future. 

  
  The insurance company denied coverage of this work, and the homeowner refused to pay for it. We repeatedly told the homeowner and the insurance company that we were not comfortable putting a new roof on before the attic ventilation was addressed but they insisted. We replaced 37 sheets of plywood, at OUR expense. We encouraged him and his insurance company to correct the ventilation issue to avoid future problems. Both declined to do so.

  
  If he believes there is a manufacturer related issue, he is welcome to file a warranty claim. He is well beyond the workmanship warranty for this project and we completed all of our work according to the roof replacement contract. In addition, the customer did not pay for the extra work we did to help improve the situation created by his inadequate ventilation and has not taken additional steps to correct the cause. The roof replacement we performed did not include liability for the attic of the house, which is causing the leaks.

  here was damage on the shingles that we knew of from about a year previous to replacing the roof
  (which was another reason why we decided to replace it), that damage has absolutely nothing to do with the damage that arose after their repair. As you can see on the attached pictures the damage is in a totally different area and on a different level of the house (there is a picture of the front of the house and a satellite picture for reference, on the red circle is the damage that they pointed out and on the yellow circle is the damage that we are complaining about, different area in different levels of the house), also they claim to have replaced 37 sheets of plywood which is an absolute lie, I also attached pictures from the inside of the attic so you can see that all the sheeting looks aged the same and it has the nail holes from the previous roofing (telling us that the sheeting is the same and did not get replaced), you can also see that the moisture is not all over the attic just around the shown area, that adds to the unethical procedures of this company by lying and taking advantage of people. On top of that I would like to point out that the previous roof had been somewhere around 20 plus years old without any moisture issues, if that hadn't been the case the house would have been in terrible conditions which was not the case, the worst of it was that small area of about 4 or 5 square feet from a direct leak on an overhang (as you can see on the picture they provided). There was no mention of any extra work nor a mention of any extra charges, and there is also no signs of any extra work done. I tried to attach a video but the file is too long, I can send any additional pictures from any particular area if you'd like. Please let me know if you need any additional information or what would be the next step to take.
