On 11/27/23,I went to Weston Dental (WD) as a new patient for a crown after a root canal. I had to find a new clinic since my dentist no longer accepted Delta Dental (**).I didn't have pain. At my appt, they said they could do the crown. It would cost $58 for the eval/buildup and $167.65 for the crown. I double-checked that was an accurate estimate and reassured it would be $167.65 since my insurance covered 85%.The prep was done that day and crown completed on 12/11/23. Attached is the receipt for 11/27/23, showing my portion is $58 which I paid that day. On 12/11/23, I was asked to pay $167.65 and told it would cover my portion while insurance covered the rest. The cashier said that took care of my costs and I was good to go. Unfortunately, I don't have the receipt. I asked them for a copy but they did not provide a receipt statement.Just like the receipt from 11/27/23, this receipt would show that my portion was $167.65, which I paid on the day of service. Dental offices always ask for patient portions on day of service, vs medical offices which ask for a small copay. My prior dental office always gave accurate price estimates by logging into ** or getting a pre-authorization. I trusted WD had done their due process in getting the correct cost as they said they did. WD boasts how they work closely with ** to ***imize benefits and have transparent costs. *** from WD admitted they did not log into the ** portal to see my $1500 yearly *** was almost met. Attached is a statement from a dental clinic - WD made mistakes in not getting the correct prior authorization. My insursance paid $210.80, they want to hold me accountable for their mistakes and pay extra $516.80. *** also tried to blame me saying I didn't tell them about my root canal, which is a complete lie. I am not trying to get out of paying for services. If they told me I was at my ***,I would have waited 3 short weeks until January '24 as I was not in pain. They need to honor the estimate of $167.65Business response

Please see the letter attached. And as promised, I called the patient and left him a message (on May 3 at 10:51 am) stating that we have every intention to make this right with him. We apologize for the inconvenience.Customer response
