I took my vehicle there after hitting a branch on the highway in the fall of 2022. I was losing tire pressure. Went to a mechanic and the owner and service man couldn't find the leak, so I was not charged in case it lost air again. Lost air again and my boyfriend aired it up. Lost air, pumped it up and took it to Matthews. The man asked if I bought the tires there, which I did. Thought that was odd. The man at the register pulled in my car, took about 5 minutes, came in and wanted me to see what he found. I couldn't believe what I saw. A big slit about 10" long (look like it came from a knife as it was perfectly straight). Also had what looked like chalk, blue, pink, white, and green rubbed on it. Needless to say I needed a new tire. But that did not come from a branch. I had 3 people look at that tire before I took it in and it was not like that. Over $200 later, I was on my way. I was too shocked to even argue about it. I have heard lots of stories about this place, after the fact.Business response

I want to start off saying that Im sorry to ******* that you did not have a good experience at our business last time you were here, that is not what we want. Im not sure why ******* is saying this now, because this was done on November 16, 2021 and looking back I can see she purchased the tires originally in October of 2020. The reason why ******** asked her if she originally bought her tires here was because if a customer purchases them at our locations and the tire is repairable we would repair it for no charge. There must have been an issue with the tire that made it not safe, like the cut that you had mentioned, we would have never done anything to the tire to make it unsafe, we do not do that or have ever done that!!! A tire sale or any kind of sale is not worth cheating someone out of money and losing your reputation or name over. We are honest with our customers on everything we do to their vehicles. Me and my brother ****** are owners of the company and if we found out that one of our technicians or ********** would do something dishonest to get a sale or anything we would fire them on the spot, you can ask any of them personally. The only thing I see ******** could have done differently was to maybe give you a better deal on the tire purchase, because you had purchased them the year before. If you have any concerns or issues you can call and talk to me or ****** personally, We would be more than willing to talk to you about it and resole any problems that you have. We are not just a normal auto repair business we truly care about our customers and want to make it right any way we can even if there was a mis-understanding or something was not handled the way it should have been, and for that I'm sorry. *******************************

On June 27 2022 I paid ****** for them to replace my Alternator. The Alternator failed within 80 miles of Wisconsin rapids they told me to go to the nearest store which was in LaCrosse wisconsin. Bottom line is I delt with this issue for a few days and have reached out for a refund on the service and parts because the mechanic that installed the Alternator didn't hook it up correctly. According to another shop he neglected to put a nut back on securing a wire which caused electricity to arc and fry the new Alternator. I have called, emailed, visited their webpage, contacted their sister store in plover, and sent certified letters to their location which have been returned to me unclaimed. No response from this business on my situation what so ever.
