Work order: "Add 3 feet to the right side of driveway, remove grass & prepare area for asphalt. At the end of the driveway, remove split & pave (area). Pave with 3 inches of commercial grade asphalt and correct apron. Seal remaining area." One year guarantee.Business response

The area, no more than a few shovels of asphalt on the right side was free, and he was explained that. the entire driveway from the house to the road was sealed as instructed. The "3 feet" he is referring to was from the turn in to his home to the porch. That was completed as well. All the work he requested was done. I will be physically mailing pictures to show that all the things he states were not done have all been completed.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This is a follow-up from my original complaint against All Pave Services dated 9/11/2023 & the message you mailed to me that outlined the message received from the business (copy enclosed).
The original proposal for the work (copy enclosed) was made & accepted by me on 8/21/2023. At that time, the owner ******* ******* used orange paint on the grass & driveway to mark areas to be addressed. There were 2 areas. The first area was widening the drive 3 ft. to the right of the existing cut-off to my home at **** ****** ******** ***** removing the split & paving the same. The grass was removed & gravel was spread the next day in this area.
The other area of the proposal was to "Correct apron" [at the entrance off of ****** ******** ****]. The original entrance to the property was not a 90 degree angle, more like 60 degrees from one direction & 120 degrees from the other direction. The intent was to make it easier to enter from the 60-degree-angle side of the entrance & to correct the broken-off pavement by the mailbox on the 120 degree-angle side of the entrance. This was not spelled out in the original proposal, however, the orange paint used by the contractor at that time showed the area of work to be done. A rough drawing of the work to be done is also enclosed. It is not to scale.
The next day when I was trying out my new phone camera, I took pictures of those orange lines.
Picture #1 shows the area to be expanded from 60 degree-angle direction. This was partially done.Pictures #2 through 4 show the area by the mail box that were marked P"ave" [pave]. Nothing was done in this area. Picture #5 shows one of the huge cracks in the original pavement in the apron area. There were many.
The contractor did the paving work about 1 month after the proposal. The first area was done satisfactorily. The second area was not. By that time the orange paint had turned to white. The marking P"ave" by the mailbox had worn off (picture #6). At that time, the contractor told me that they had finished it all except a small area by the mailbox & that he would be back to finish "in the morning". Since I had a doctor's appointment "in the morning", I paid him the second half of the amount per the contact. No one appeared to finish the work the next day nor for many days. I called his business number many, many times but his mailbox was always full. My wife found another number for him & he finally answered his phone. I personally talked to him about 4 times.
The first time, he then told me that the asphalt company was shut down due to some problems & they sent their employees home. The next time, he said that it had rained & he couldn't finish that day. Each time, he gave me a new excuse for not being able to finish the work. At that time I registered online with you.
So as not to allow the cracks in the driveway to get worse during the West Virginia winter, I spent untold time patching & sealing areas by hand in the apron area. Picture #7 shows empty buckets, bags & bottles of product that I purchased/used to try to correct the apron. After with my "corrections", you can see close-ups of the driveway apron in pictures 7 through 9. I am including these in case the contractor went out to take pictures at my property after he responded to you.
There was never any mention of any work being done "free" as the contractor states in his message to you. I am very dissatisfied with the quality, timeliness & lack of completion of this contractors work.
Regards,
****** ****
