My daughter took the 2016 Subaru Forester I gave to her to make sure she had a safe vehicle to drive to and from college which is 3 hrs away to get an oil change Fri, Aug 25th at 11 am. On her way home the oil light came on. She pulled over smoke poured out and oil had gone everywhere coming from the top of the car The dipstick was completed dry. We called and Jenkins sent a tow truck They brought us a loaner car They called back that day and said it needed a new engine. Monday I called to see what was going on. They said the filter didn’t have a seal said they were getting a salvage yard short block engine and it would have a 12,000 mile parts warranty. Anything that should have had oil that day needs to be replaced and that the warranty needs to cover labor. other dealers will not accept their warranty on a salvage engine so it needs to be a Subaru remanufactured engine. If something happens when she is at college no dealer would help her. They said not putting $7,000 engine in my car that my car isn’t worth $7,000 To bring the loaner back and my car would be out in parking lot to pick up. I didn’t hear from anyone again until Wednesday Matt the GM called and said they are going to put the long block in but it will still be a salvaged engine and they’d warranty parts and labor for 12,000 miles. I told him this is unacceptable because other dealers would not abide by that warranty because it’s not warranted Subaru part. I need other dealers to abide because she’s 3 hrs away most of the time for college. He accused me of holding the loaner car for hostage and told me to bring it back. I asked him how was I supposed to do that since he has my car? I’d have to walk home, so they came to my house and got the car about a half hour later. They didn’t knock on door or ask for the remote key for the loaner, they pulled in took the car bruise could even get out the door. I have bought 4 Subaru’s Matt Jenkins did say on Wed a tech that didn’t put it on correctly.

Had a bunch of dashboard lights come on. Took it to Jenkins subaru in Bridgeport WV. They said it was the valve body in the transmisson. They replaced it and that week the transmisson was leaking again. Took it back to Jenkins and they said oh its nothing we did now it was the bottom pan on the transmisson leaking. So they did that work. Meanwhile I put $1500 out for the valve body and $1300 for the bottom pan leaking. Which when I got it back it was still leaking. Took it to a different dealership. Was told they used the wrong sealer and it was leaking from the top. When they tore it down they found the transmisson was dropped and the torque converter was broke. This other dealership has my subaru fixed and I'm very happy. Will never take anything or buy anything from Jenkins they are the worst to deal with.
