            On March 28th, 2022 a deposit check of $18,000 was given to Christopher B****** of Branham Home and Office Solutions for the remodel of two bathrooms and the kitchen in my home. Work was to be started on May 14th, 2022 with an estimated completion time of 5 weeks. On May 18th, after I reached out to Chris to get an update on the project he stated he decided not to start work on May 14 and would start when we got back into town May 21st. After he once again failed to start work once we came back to town, I contacted Chris on May 23rd. When he responded on May 26th he stated that he was unable to start work due to staffing issues and needed two additional weeks to sort things out. I reached out to Chris on June 23rd, 6 weeks past the original start date of the project, to see when work would start. He stated that he could begin work on my project at the beginning of July and have the entire project finished by July 18th. Chris came to my house on July 5th and began work in the guest bathroom. After two weeks, he stated that he was leaving the country for Europe for 20 days despite the fact that the one bathroom he began work on was still not finished and neither the master bathroom nor the kitchen had been started. I told Chris before he left that I wanted to have a conversation with him about the project and get an idea of the timeline since he was leaving the country. We planned to do this the Monday, July 18th. He never showed up nor communicated with me a change in plans. On August 30th, after poor workmanship, communication, and timeliness I told Chris we would not be moving forward with the projects and that we wanted a refund of our money. He stated that due to other jobs falling through he would not be giving us our money back. He then asked for us to purchase all of our material and give him an additional $3,000 in order for him to start the project in three weeks. I told him we would not be giving him any more money. He has not communicated with us since.

            In early July my husband and I hired a contractor (Branham Home and Office Solutions) out of Kearneyville, WV to finish our basement for my mom to move into. We found him on a very reliable small business site that several of our close friends and family are members are a part of. Christopher Branham the owner came out to give the estimate and he acted like he really wanted to help my mom get in before winter. He said he could start right away after his planned vacation to Europe. He asked for 1/2 down (36k) so that he could order everything and would be ready to start full force when he returned. My mom paid the first 1/2 and Greg and I took a loan to pay the remaining balance. I told Chris my mom would send a check and he said he usually just does wire transfers, plus he needed the money before he we away to get everything ordered. So my mom who is almost 80 went to the bank and wired the money to his account. When he returned from his trip he never reached out to us. Greg and I messaged him over and over and we got many excuses, but nothing was adding up. We confronted him at his home and he basically told us he was screwed out of a ton of money from another client and he wouldn’t be able to start our job for another several months. We asked for our money back and he replied that he didn’t have it, but would try to secure the funds to pay us back. A day or so later he blocked us from FB and stopped responding to our calls or text. I am now working with the State Police and Attorney Generals office to see justice. If you need any work done please take the time to check references, look at the BBB website and never just trust anyone. The nicest person could be a scam artist!!
