A contract was made with, Charles ****** DBA Underground Builders ( U.G.B.) on April 21, 2023. He required a $15,000 cash down payment made on the day of the contract April 21, 2023. Which we paid. The following is a list of problems we incurred with U.G.B. : Poor timeliness. We were given a projected completion date of May 17, 2023. We are unsatisfied with the quality of work performed. The floor is uneven and poses safety hazards. The floor was not laid as recommended by the manufacturer as labeled on the boxes the tile came in. We brought this to his attention on 6/12/23, he said he would repair, give a discount back on the work and make things right. From then on there was a lack of communication from the contractor. He never repaired nor finished the job. The contractor will not reply to various attempts to contact him. The contractor never corrected nor finished the project he was hired to do. We sent a certified letter on July 7, 2023 to terminate the contract and request a refund. The letter was returned and we have not heard or seen the contractor since. This put us far behind our timeline on moving in our new house. We are still not moved in. We had to find and hire another contractor to finish the job. The new contractor was not able to repair and said the entire floor would have to be ripped up and new would have to be laid down to repair.
