          On 08/08/2024 Monkey-Place.com came to the attention of BBB. At that time a consumer submitted a Scam Tracker report to BBB regarding wanting to purchase a pet monkey. The consumer stated Monkey-Place.com wanted several hundred dollars upfront to come pick up a monkey in person. Upon checking the address online, the consumer discovered it was a residential address appearing to be empty and up for sale. Contacting Monkey-Place.com an additional time to confront the business led to the consumer being told to stay off of the website. At this time BBB does not have sufficient background information on this business. BBB has made two or more requests for background information from Monkey-Place.com. BBB has not received a response from this business and/or has not been able to verify information received from this business. On 08/15/2024, BBB checked the website to determine when it was created and if the business was registered. The website was created in 2024 and the business is NOT registered in West Virginia. The website appears to use stock photos/stolen photos from other similar sellers and pages online to represent its inventory. On 10/08/2024 BBB sent an email/letter to Monkey-Place.com requesting the following information:

          Physical Location and contact information
          Preferred method of contact (mail, fax or email)
          A brief description of the Monkeys and other Exotic animals the company offers, how they are obtained and source of images listed on the website and any other social media.
          Proof of Licensing/Registrations and in what states.
          Information on the breeding, buying and delivery process
          Information on how payment is sent/accepted

          BBB also requested any additional information that would enable BBB to better understand the business.

          BBB did not receive a response.
