I noticed a 15.95 monthly charge on my ******** ******* that went back 14 months. I went to the website listed on the credit card statement, which was for a website building company called ** media, which had no record of business with me. Upon research I found the charge was actually from Herald Dispatch. I contacted Herald Dispatch to no avail. I have never received a newspaper nor an online subscription to this paper. I contacted ******** ******* and filed a fraud claim. The credit card refunded, the entire amount, charged by the herald dispatch and issued me a new credit card. I warned others on social media to watch their credit cards for this charge. Several of my social media friends expressed that the same thing has happened to them. The owner of ** media also told me that several people have contacted her trying to figure out the same charge on their credit cards with her business website attached. She has been able to help them inform them the charges are Herald Dispatch charging them fraudulently. This also happened to me several years ago and I also had to file a fraud claim with American Express and receive a new card so clearly this is a problem I don’t know how they are getting peoples credit card numbers but clearly they are. Today I received a paper bill from the newspaper charging me $15.95 for a newspaper service that I have never received nor ever requested. Also, the bill was sent to an address that’s not even mine that was apparently delivered by my postman who remedied the error.

      Business response

All accounts in Jill ********* name were suspended.  This looks to be a fraudulent credit card transaction that was entered into HD Media's self-service portal online.

We have also contacted our ******** ******* representative to remove the web address that is associated with our account.  This web address has never belonged to HD Media (WV) and **** was unsure how it had gotten attached to our account.

I have emailed Miss ******* and informed of these events.
