New used engine for my 2013 VW beetle paid majority of cost in December for work to start picked up mid January. Drove it two days only to have engine lights come back on was paid in full with that January pick up. Was back in his garage for months Finally picked back up to only drive it a short amount of time at oil light came on back in the garage for weeks again picked it back up to drive it home oil light leaking keep getting different stories as to what it is never successfully fixed has been sitting in my driveway now for over a month waiting for him to get it back in the garage There’s always an excuse employee quitting he’s sick no room in his garage. No room in his parking lot. Seems like they just don’t know what they’re doing and don’t care to do it in a timely manner so the engine replacement was supposed to come with a warranty from him, but the warranty does me no good if he won’t actually work on it and get the car, right I’m afraid to drive it and I’m afraid to let him work on it but at this point he’s not even replying to me so it seems like he has no interest in actually fixing this vehicle but has $4500 of my money I have pages of texts with his excuses and promises, but no follow through. I’ve requested that he either fix the car so it’s drivable, which is what I paid him for or refund my money so that I can take it elsewhere, which, at this point, I would prefer, because I honestly don’t trust him at all, or I can have it towed to the VW dealership and let him authorize the work to pay for it and get it fixed properly with him paying that bill if he won’t just refund my money.Customer response

Worst repair shop I have ever seen. It has been nearly 6 months since we brought our car to this place and it is still not fixed. They have been paid in full but will not complete the work that they were paid for. I would recommend you stay away. They even delivered our car back to our drive way saying they had to have cars removed from the lot per their landlord and that as soon as they can they would complete the work. That was over a month ago.Initial Complaint

On July 15th, 2021, I was told that my Volkswagen Tiguan had a failing turbo. I had brought my car to this shop to be diagnosed because it was throwing a 'Low Boost Turbo' code, and the lead mechanic at this shop, *** ********* explained to me that my Turbo had "side to side shaft play and is in the beginning stages of locking up from poor maintenance". We discussed what my options were for repair and together we decided on installing a NEW turbo. I paid $825.99 for a new turbo, with a supposed "3 year warranty", and I paid an additional $403.75 for the labor that went into installing the new turbo. On September 12th, I brought my car back to this shop and they told me that the boot on my CV-Axle was ripped and that all the grease has leaked out. I was told that I needed a new CV-Axle. I paid for a completely new CV-Axle, my invoice shows that I was charged for a completely new CV-Axle, and I was additionally charged for the labor of installing a NEW CV-Axle. During that same visit, the lead mechanic, *** Colsmann also told me that my head gasket had blown and that dirty engine oil was leaking into my coolant tank. So, I paid for a new head gasket, a new set of head gasket bolts, and for the labor to replace the head gasket. On November 1st, 2021, I had to bring my car to a different auto repair shop because I was experiencing more issues with my car that Cars Inc couldn't seem to fix. Upon having my car diagnosed by the new auto repair shop, I was informed that the same CV-Axle I had paid Cars Inc to replace needed to be replaced again. Turns out, Cars Inc never replaced my CV-Axle. Upon finding this discrepancy, I had the new shop check my turbo and my head gasket, since Cars Inc was supposed to have replaced those as well. We discover that nothing had been replaced and I was frauded on 3 completely separate repair jobs by this shop. We contacted the shop to try to resolve the issue but the shop refuses to give me a refund.Initial Complaint

I have been out of work for over a month now, and Cars Inc took over four weeks to get my vehicle back to me without ever giving me an estimate of when I would receive my vehicle back. My vehicle entered the shop on September 26th, 2021, and was in need of a water pump replacement. They attempted to charge me for a battery that I never asked for while claiming the old battery was constantly dying. This is simply not the case, as they were using the dysfunctional backup key to the car, which simply does not start it. They claimed that the wiring was bad to the battery, so they replaced the wiring "for free". Meanwhile, they attempted to return my vehicle to me on October 13th, 2021 but failed to do so because while THEY WERE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, a belt broke. I asked which belt this was and they gave me no answer before replacing it. They ALSO did this same thing with a belt that helps the water pump to function. "It was already open so we just ordered the part and put it in."
They failed to give me any estimates on the amount of time and/or money that the repairs would take. This occurred when they first put the water pump in and they replaced an unknown belt, when they were driving and a “belt broke” and when they tried to put a new battery in my vehicle without asking me prior to doing so. The vehicle wasn’t fixed and I took it back on October 22nd because I it was still not fixed. It was overheating, which was the original problem. As of today they have found another problem with it, which is just a belt tightener, which could mean that this could’ve been the problem prior to them fixing other belts. I have tried to call them throughout this week and no one has answered the phone. This is keeping me from getting a job or unemployment and their lack of transparency has made this whole process very stressful and unnecessarily difficult. They replaced so many things without sending me a receipt for any of them.
