On 08/02/2024 Sphynx Kittens for Adoption came to the attention of BBB. At that time a consumer submitted a Scam Tracker report to BBB regarding a listed Facebook Page mentioning “Sphynx Kittens for adoption”. The consumer stated “A woman, Carol Connie, stated cats would be available in 4 weeks, and asked for a $250 down deposit and drew up a contract”. The consumer also mentioned verifying with the “admin” of the sites and was told the business was an accredited seller with no issues. Funds for purchase were sent via PayPal as “person/family” per request of the business in an attempt to avoid having to claim the purchase. The consumer received pictures during the waiting period and was to meet the business halfway for delivery. Once the delivery time came, the business mentioned being sick and deciding to follow through with the delivery via a transport company called “Succex Delivery”. The business provided a tracking number and then the consumer was contacted by the transport company via email. The transport company requested an additional $600.00 via Cash App to secure delivery that would be refunded. When the consumer contacted Sphynx Kittens for Adoption regarding this issue, the business said they would pay half and the consumer declined. After declining to pay the additional funds, Sphynx Kittens for Adoption stopped responding. The consumer never received delivery of the Sphynx or a refund. BBB has since uncovered multiple Facebook pages regarding the sale of Sphynx and warning consumers of potential scams with similar business names. At this time does not have sufficient background information on this business. BBB made two or more requests for background information from the business. BBB has not received a response from this business and/or has not been able to verify information received from this business. On 09/10/2024, BBB attempted to locate a website for the business and was unsuccessful. Sphynx Kittens for Adoption is NOT registered in West Virginia. On 09/10/2024 BBB sent an email/letter to Sphynx Kittens for Adoption requesting the following information:

1. Physical Location and contact information
2. Preferred method of contact (mail, fax, social media or email)
3. How are the kittens advertised?
4. A brief description of the Sphynx the company offers, how they are obtained, source of images offered to consumers and updated list of current social media pages
5. Proof of Licensing/Registrations and in what states
6. Information on the adoption process and delivery 
7. Information on how payment is sent/accepted


BBB also requested any additional information that would enable BBB and consumers to better understand the business.
