In July 2022, a contract was signed & deposit of 4000.00 was given by personal check. Sept.26 I was notified by Markey that he would be a week or 2 behind scheduled start date of Sept 27. But would keep me updated. I heard nothing more from him.Jan.2 2023 I text him saying I no longer wished for him to do project due to his timely work ethics & would like my deposit back. He agreed to do so, Jan.22 I text him again telling him to refund my money by Jan 25th 2023 or I would take legal action . On 1/25/23. He texted asking if I'd be home on Monday 1/28/23 my reply was no I was having surgery text back from him said Tuesday? At this point I did not respond knowing he was trying to buy time & I refuse to play that game since I told him previously to leave the refund with my daughter or her family since he is working there. I have not heard from Thomas Markey since. Would like to get my refund quickly so that I can get my project done.Initial Complaint

We hired this company to remodel two bath rooms last November. After long delays of no shows and leaving the place a mess we had to replace them. They did put something’s in place which were done wrong even according to the owner Thomas. They partly removed some of the mistakes leaving a mess. He agreed to pay us back the $9000 of monies paid him. I am almost 70 so for this guy to take advantage of us is even worse. After many attempts to get even partial payments we never saw a dime although he agreed to send it. We agreed to try to help him by allowing payments to us but he lied once again and sent no money. We will be getting an attorney if this attempt fails as this guy talks a good game. Please do not hire this guy for anything. I honestly do not want to hurt anyone but he leaves me no choice.Initial Complaint

Hired Markey Construction in Aug of 2021 to install a 2 car garage. Half of the payment was provide for the labor which was $7000. Have been in contact with Thomas, who indicated he was going to complete the project however never completed and barley started the projected 1 wall was completed in 8 months. On April 27, 2022 I fired Markey Construction to do anything further at the property. I texted with Thomas who indicated he would send the refund amount back to my parents residence. I explained to him to send a certified bank check with tracking, however he indicated he did not and just sent a check on May 5th and as of today, May 16th we have not received any payment. He was contacted again today. 5/16 and indicated he was going to pay on Monday 5/23 which is his modus operandi. We are looking for assistance from BBB to obtain the amount owed to us.Business response

We are very sorry for any inconvenience regarding this customer complaint. After discussing a few weeks ago with Alan moon, the proper amount for the refund stated was $7,000. Check was sent out to *** *** **** in the amount of $7,000 for a full refund for not being able to complete this project.
