UPDATE: August 30, 2023, BBB continues to receive complaints and scam tracker reports on Foremost Shipping. To date there have been 10 scam tracker reports and four complaints lodged.

July 2023, BBB received two Scam Tracker reports on Foremost Shipping alleging a work-at-home scheme involving a Reshipping scam.

The consumer had his resume on Indeed and was contacted by the company. He was asked to fill out a form and send them his driver’s license. After being hired, the consumer began receiving packages that he was to open, then repackage with a different label and ship out. The consumer was promised his pay at the end of 30 days. At 30 days, however, the consumers was locked out of the dashboard and all communication ceased.

Whois.com shows the website, foremostshippingus.com, was registered on June 21, 2023 for only one year. The address used on the website, 5671 Benedum Dr #1, Shinnston, WV 26431 actually belongs to a BBB Accredited business Central Van & Storage of Charleston Inc and Standard Air & Lite Corporation. BBB called Central Van & Storage and confirmed Foremost Shipping was not located at the address.

A review of the company website shows stock photos used for the customer reviews along with repeated sentences, such as “Everything has been super smooth”.

BBB offers the following tips to avoid an employment scam:

  • Be wary of on-the–spot job offers, particularly when they are unsolicited. You may be an excellent candidate for the job, but a legitimate company will want to talk to a candidate before hiring and do a proper interview.
  • Guard your personal information. Be cautious in sharing your personal information as part of a job application, especially leery if someone is pressuring you for the information. Never give sensitive information to anyone you cannot verify who they say they are.
  • Report such instances to BBB.org/Scamtracker, Federal Trade Commission and/or your State Attorney General’s office.
