We called Local Lumber around the first week in August, 2023, to get an estimate on replacing our steps, landing and banisters. August 7th, 2023, a guy from the company came out and measured everything, told me I would get a text from the company soon with an estimate quote. I received that quote in the amount of $3,498.00. They did NOT tell me anything else. A week or two went by and I never heard anything from the company, I finally went down to talk to them about the progress. They told me I had to pay half of the estimate before they would do anything, The estimator did NOT tell me this. I agreed to pay half and would get the money to them. August 24th, I went back to their office and delivered the check for $1,749.00, half of the estimate amount. She said they would start as so as possible. Finally a guy comes out and looks at it, he determines they had to order the material in order to get the right color, I said fine. Now, by this time it was September, I called to check on the update on material, she told me they had to order it from another place, might take a week or two., this was Oct. 9th, 2023, I waited and waited to hear, nothing! I called again on Oct. 24th and 25th, 2023, could not get an answer. Finally, on Oct. 26th, 2023, I went down to see them about the progress, Upon arrival I noticed the Gate was locked with a sign saying CLOSED! I came home and called again to see what was going on, a man answered the phone, I told him the situation and would like to have the money I gave them $1,749. refunded because no service was provided. He told me he would tell the manager and he would get back to me. Never heard anything! Called back again on Oct. 27th, a woman answered, her name was, April, I told her who I was, and she quickly hung up the phone. I called back A SECOND TIME, April answered, she hung up the phone again. I just want my money refunded, $1,749.00.
