The Cowboy State Stallion Incentive is a barrel racing program, in which contestants pay a nomination fee ($150 per horse) to compete for $20,000 added money provided by stallion owners and stallion auction on the Cowboy State Stallion website. The $20,000 event is at the **** **** Classic event located in ******** WY. After paying my $150 nomination fee (years ago) for my horse to be nominated, my horse, ************, competed and won $1413 at this event in September of 2022 and the owner of the incentive, Jane P*******, is refusing to pay me what he won. Proof of winnings provided. My name and my horses name appear in the results on her website for The **** **** event. Upon numerous attempts to call, text and message her between 9/22 and to*** 11/27, I have only spoke to her one time. At this time she tells me she is holding my money because a stallion I competed on (but did not own) in 2017 still owes $500 from the 2018 season. This is a false claim, but regardless I ******* ***) never have owned or managed that stallion. IF there was proof of such money being owed in 2018, it would not be my responsibility to pay... It would be the stallion owner. Any written form of proof that that stallion was committed to the auction in 2018 will not have my name on it. She claims it is my responsibility to pay because the stallion owner from 2018 is my father. Again, if there were any legal obligation to pay her is his. The reason I know that this is a false allegation is because ***, the stallion owner, waited months to get paid for what his horse won in 2017, therefore didn't want anything to do with the incentive anymore. There are many contestants voicing their opinion of their own frustrations from this scam of an incentive on facebook right now. I am just now being made aware that she has not paid many people throughout her ownership of the incentive. I would like this to be resolved in the form of $1413 payment from the Cowboy State Stallion Incentive.Business response

I have discussed multiple options with ****** and gave her time to respond. She never did reach back out to me and then filed this complaint. This was also done right around Thanksgiving and her checks were already in the mail prior to that. She was the managing person in charge of details/payments/communication with her father years ago when he enrolled his stallion in our program and refused to pay his bill. Now his bill is well over $3000. We do have a right to hold payouts with people that have balances owed.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
She mailed me the money my horse won.
