I brought my 2009 Tacoma in for a break check and shown my rack and pinion was leaking on 5/23/2024. I agreed to the repair and price and brought it back for service at 0900 on 5/29/2024. They were having complications and I had to leave my vehicle overnight. I was called at 5 pm the next evening to pick up my truck. I was told by the technician **** that the vehicle was repaired, and I even talked the technician that worked on the vehicle and gave him a tip. As I left the Firestone I noted the Airbag dash light was on so I looked it up on the internet. My search revealed that if a technician is not careful while repairing a rack and pinion that the Clock Spring in the steering column will break. The quickest way to tell is if the horn does not work then the Clock Spring is broken. I immediately called the Firestone and the technician **** said to bring it back in the morning. In the morning I showed the Manager, ***** O'***** the Airbag light and the horn not working. ***** immediately became defensive and started providing excuses. He could only offer to me If I left my truck with them for the day they would take a look at it and tell me if they would accept responsibility and repair the broken Clock Spring. I contacted the Firestone corporate office and was told some one would contact me in 2 business days. I am disappointed in Firestone as I have had good service from other location in ******, ******** in the past. I cannot recommend the location for anything other than tires or oil change.
