BBB has received several consumer inquiries and Scam Tracker Submissions about this business. CIF Logistics, LLC advertises vehicle and heavy equipment transportation and escrow services; however, consumers have expressed concerns that this may be a fraudulent company.

Consumers report trying to purchase a vehicle or machinery online. They are then contacted by the seller who directs them to use CIF Logistics as the shipper and/or to hold funds in escrow to facilitate the transaction. One consumer has reported wiring $13,200 to CIF Logistics and not receiving the purchased heavy equipment or being able to contact the company. Other consumers have reported similar arrangements but have not reported losing money because they grew suspicious that they were being scammed.

These reports prompted an internal investigation of the business’s practices. BBB sent correspondence to the business by email on June 11, and June 24, 2020. Our letters requested the following:

1) Explanation of all the services the business provides to the public.
2) Copies of company advertising, including marketing/promotional materials and/or solicitation pieces.
3) Samples of customer contracts, agreements or documents requiring customer signatures.
4) Documentation of proper licensing through the US Department of Transportation and any other licensing required for the services offered by the business.
5) The name and contact information for the owner and/or principal of the business.
6) A list of any additional websites the company operates or maintains.
7) Information concerning the business’s legal entity registration in the state of Wyoming.

The business did not respond to BBB regarding these requests.
