On June 16, 2016, BBB sent a letter to Mountain Meadow Partners LLC to gain a greater understanding of their business and their business practices. BBB contacted the company due to the nature of complaints and inquiries received from consumers. To date, the business has not responded. Consumers allege that they were contacted by this company seeking to rent their timeshares in Mexico. Consumers who have contacted BBB allege that during the transaction of renting their timeshare to the company, the company told them they were required to pay an advanced fee for a survey of the resort. Additionally, they were told they must prepay taxes to the Mexican government through the company’s attorney in Mexico. Consumers further allege the company was unwilling to deduct these fees from what they pay the consumer to rent their timeshares.  Although the company has stated in their responses to complaints that they will reimburse these consumers for the fees, to date, neither consumer has received a refund.

BBB has confirmed resort survey fees and taxes paid in advance to a prospective renter are not required by the Mexican government for timeshare rentals.  The Wyoming Department of Insurance confirmed this company is not licensed through them for escrow or title services, which are services advertised on their website.  BBB found the company is registered in the State of Wyoming through a Registered Agent with a virtual address. BBB could not locate any information regarding ownership nor a physical location.  BBB found their website, www.mountainmeadowpartnersllc.com is registered to an individual in Mexico.
