We had a water sample “taken” by Culligan to be tested to ensure our water was safe. They came back and said that it was not so we were going to need to put a $15,000 system in for our water. We had a second opinion sample taken to ensure this was accurate before proceeding with the work. The second test came back perfectly within normal limits and only a RO system with a cost of $900 was needed. They are still trying to charge us and send us to collections for the false sample that they took of our water which I have refused to pay. We have tried several time to contact the corporate manager with no avail.Business response

We were asked to take a water sample and send it into the Culligan Lab for testing. We received the attached results. It appears that Jacob Neumiller signed the Sample Analysis request. Please see the attached Culligan Lab invoice cost of $290.00 and our invoice for $320.00 to the customer. The extra $30.00 includes the cost of the sampling kit and our time to collect the sample. We did not make any money on this deal! It has been over a year and the invoice hasn't been paid so it has accrued finance charges. I do not have the information we quoted the customer however either way we only charged for the water sample. The customer owes us for the results and charges to take the sample.

Please see the attached paperwork which includes the water analysis from Culligan Corporates accredited lab. I have also included our cost on the sample and a transaction history which shows the billing history on this account. As you can see we did not make any money on taking this sample. We only charged the cost of the sample plus freight. We bid a whole house reverse osmosis system to remove the sulfate smell and give the customer better water for the entire home. We certainly could have given a quote for an under the sink system if this is what the customer wanted. The customer owes us for the water sample. We were called to get a sample and it appears Jacob Neumiller signed the sample page also.
