GMC Acadia was purchased on 8/9/23 and within 100 miles of drive time, the check engine light came on. When brought to the dealer, they simply cleared the engine code and returned the vehicle to me. After another 100 miles, the code came back on for the same issue (faulty thermostat). The dealer says they refuse to fix it because it is not their problem and offer $8k less than purchase price to buy it back even though less than 900 miles were put on the vehicle, 80 of those were returning the car to the dealer for the 'repair',Initial Complaint

I have just recently purchaced a 2015 *** SUV from skyline motors in rawlins wy 82301. Since the day i bought the car ive had problems with it and it is still in a local shop here in rawlins. I havent even had a chance to drive it besides the first 2 weeks after i bought it because of its problems. Ive owned the car for 3 months now and have been making payments on this mistory car. Mistory why because i wonder if its real or not i dont feel like i own a car that i just have purchesed since im always asking for rides to and from work. After i found out my new car had some issues i went back to Skyline motors and addressed the problems and scheuled an inspection. They told me it isnt covered under warrenty and that the price for repairs would be 3-4 thousand dollars. So i have taken my new car to another shop and its been there ever since. I bought my last pickup truck from Skyline motors and had factory warrenty on my truck. My inner door handle broke on my pick up truck and i took it to skyline to be repaired and i was told that it wasnt covered. But after further investigations i found out that if a dealership sells an extended warranty that they must honnar that waranty. This isnt the first time that Skyline motors has been doing bad business. And a quick look into their files on my truck the 2016 dodge you will see that i purched the extended warranty from skyline and they didnt honnar that warranty. So with the new situation at hand ive had enough. If i can get your company to help me maybe we can make the world a better place. People are losing money everyday on there 401k retirements and we all have worked hard to get the little things in life. I cant afford new cars or id buy them but i was told by this company i was receiveing a ** certified vehical and im offended that there company is offering items/cars that dont meet the standards and guildlines set forth by the manufacture. Please help thank you if need be ask the State Auditor to go over there books.Business response

This customer purchased the 2015 *** Acadia with 83286 miles on08/22/22 with no warranty purchased. The vehicle was covered by a limited powertrain warranty for 3 months and 3,000 miles from time of purchase provided at no cost to the customer. The vehicle was presented to our service department with a leak in the power steering pump, which would cost approximately $1000 to replace. This item is not part of the powertrain. The customer expects everything to be covered under a limited used car coverage, which is never the case.

Well do to the fact that the last truck we bought from skyline had a extended warranty purchased from your business and your company did not honor the warranty with the broken doorhandle it's hard for me to believe your doing good business. My son is related to you his name is ******* ******** ***** *********** father who is related to Your daughter who married ******* **********. It's rather upsetting knowing that I may have purchased a lemon from a family member. We haven't driven the car we purchased since the first month that we obtained it! Thanks again

Please take the time to read the items that are not covered. Items such as door handles are only covered by a manufacture's new car warranty. Owners at some point must take responsibility for ownership, which includes fixing minor issues that occur. Used car warranties are not as comprehensive as a new car warranty.
