Decent experience with sellers, but terrible experience with platform and the lack of customer support. They claim to have a "2 Day purchase protection", but only reroute you back to the seller over and over. They then respond with secret (undisclosed) policies regarding shipping and refunds that they don't tell you about until there is a problem. "***", who finally responded to my multiple messages days later, informed me that they have some 15-day policy whereas 'if the item is in transit and get scanned every 15 days they do not have to refund it until it stops getting scanned for more than 15 days'. They claimed that is a **** policy which I've never seen on **** or on the OfferUp website. *****, I'm only filing a review because I already got my bank to settle the matter over night. But I want other people to know that this selling site is pretty scammy from what I have experienced. This is not the first time I've had problems like this trying to buy something on OfferUp. I won't be using that site anymore. I'd rather pay the fees on **** and feel safer than ever go to OfferUp again.Review from Nisarg P

This app is a scam the company will delete your account without warning or explanation .. I posted a single desktop computer for sale with photos and details of the desktop I inquired to seven different people posting electronics for sale asking several for device specifications and if they were willing to trade they said I violated policy and deleted my account and banned me from selling but they won't explain what I did .. I followed the posting rules even took pictures of the products serial numbers for potential buyers to see I never got any replies back from anybody .. but they deleted my account and banned me and still won't tell me what I did .. this app is a scam the customer service is ran through automated messages do not use them your only wasting your time they will send you multiple emails daily spamming you aside from that this app is a scam*Review from Lauren

DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM AS A BUYER (OR SELLER) The first time i purchase something to have it shipped was a huge mistake. All over their website it says you have 2 days to review and request a refund. I reached out to the seller because an item was missing and because one item had black mold. Initially i just wanted to see if they had the missing portion. When I saw the mold, i wanted a refund. I reached out and they didnt reply, and hadn't for 16 hours. OfferUp showed them as being active, so I knew this person was probably blowing me off. I reach out to OfferUp's support team because I didnt see the option to refund and when they replied they said that they couldn't do anything because my time went over 48hours. I said but online it says 2 days, not 48hrs from the time of delivery. I thought I had 2 entire days to file. They said I had the option to initiate the return in the chat and I had looked and didn't see it, which is why I started the chat. They kept repeating that because it was over 48hrs that time was up and to work it out with the seller. There is no accountability for how their policies are worded, as well as no plan for if a seller ghosts after their product is not at all how it was described. Also another part of the order they had altered the image and it looked very different in person (in person it was really severely faded). They also turned off the chat feature for me and I cannot do it online either. I will be deleting my account and telling everyone I initially told to get it to delete it. I'm sure they wont want to engage in this platform after hearing this story.OfferUp, Inc. Response

terrible selling platform and even worse customer service. I have hundreds of dollars sitting in my account for 2 weeks. The cash out button doesn't work. My deposit method hasn't changed or anything. They just keep sending me generic email responses with no helpReview from Anna F

*******, PLEASE, STAY AWAY FROM THAT SITE. Was selling for years here. That time sold than expensive item. ***** wanted to return, I declined. He filed a claim. And even I was explaining everything in messages before selling, all evidences were in my favor, they decided in customers favor. They DIDN'T give me return information. They didn't give me tracking number. Only days after u sent them email, they told the item was delivered days ago! I didn't get anything, and because of their ridiculous behavior- I wasn't able to watch my item and check tracking. They refused to help . I have lost item, and $600. I am a mother of 7 kids and was left without the earnings which they stolen and even refused to do the business right. There is NO PROTECTION FOR SELLERS. SELLERS MEAN NOTHING FOR THEM. So many items I have made offers and/or used "buy it now". About 5% have even responded. Most just get cancelled by offerup with no explanation of why the item was not shipped. I have reported this to offerup and they do not even reply. I am very disgusted and disappointed in this site. Sure my money is always refunded by offerup for non shipment, but when you anticipate getting an item you really do like a lot and want and then don't get it many times over it really is heartbreaking too.Review from Trevor A. ***** UP SELLING OUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITHOUT AUTHORITY AND REQUIRING ID TO MAKE A PURCHASE i bought 1 time on there and now i go to reply to a seller that messaged me about purchasing a item from them and a pop up comes up saying i have to verify and show my ID to make a purchase, even tho my fb, email and phone number is already verified so W*F IS THIS S**T? they better pay me if they want to sell my information and have my id this s**t is nuttz these ***** f*ckin sites are gettin pathetic by the minute i guess they going downhill if people cant even buy without showing id f*c*ed up fa realReview from Ruqaiyah M

DO NOT Ship items with offer up. Holding money for 10 days. Now you ask for drivers liscense pic and i.d. no thank you. Never Again. Might lose the 60 dollars just so they don't get my i.d.
