          There are an estimated 2.5 million weddings each year in the United States. The most expensive place to get married is New Jersey: $51,000. The least expensive place to get married is Alaska: $14,444.

          The average cost of a wedding in 2023 was $29,000, slightly increasing from $27,000 in 2022. Prices will vary based on the region, season, style, and size of your event. 

           

          Below are the average wedding costs projected for 2024. 

           

          • The predicted average cost of a wedding venue is $6,500 - $12,000.

          • The average cost of catering is $6,500 - $10,000.

          • The average cost of a wedding dress is $1,600.

          • The average cost of wedding day makeup and hair is $550 - $850.

          • The average cost of a DJ is $2,000 - $7,000.

          • The average cost for catering is $70 per guest.

          • The average cost of an engagement ring is $5,900.

          • The average cost for a wedding planner is $1,500 - $4,750.

          • The average cost for a wedding cake is $600 - $900. Multiple tiers, decorations, and fillings can be more expensive.

          • The average cost of wedding favors is $400. Many couples pick a DIY favor to save money.

          • The average cost of wedding invitations is $590.

          • The average cost of wedding day transportation is $700 - $1,200. Limousines are the most favored choice, with vintage automobiles coming in second.
