I love the idea of working with a smaller more local insurance provider, but this one just stinks. My parents have had insurance for decades with the same small local company and never ever made a claim. 2 properties and multiple cars. A few years back we had a whole go round about the fact that there were wood stoves in both *********** had to send them photos and diagrams and measurements. We heated only with wood for almost 20 years before adding a furnace at the old home. It had been insured before MMG with no issue at all. An inspector was sent out to one property in April this year and end of July we got a letter that all the buildings need to be re-roofed before November. Also all the ducks need to be removed from the premises. No reason why the pet ducks Ive had for nearly a decade should be removed just that it will be done and this paper signed and returned. Sooo for some mysterious and unknown reason pet ducks are a liability and can get your insurance cancelled with no explanation??? They have been included in our info packets for several years when the company asks for information no comment before now. The idea that we could somehow find a contractor to re-Roof the buildings in a couple of months is preposterous. And while the shed is a mess due to massive overhanging trees that need to be removed, the house is really in perfectly adequate condition. But without actually getting up there I dont think you could know that. No comment on the trees that threaten the buildings and power lines at all (were waiting on a tree person to come and thats been like pulling teeth, but I expected that to be a comment on the letter!!)Its clear they arent interested in having our thousands of dollars per year with no claims made. Well be purchasing insurance elsewhere.
