Closed my chequing and savings accounts without any notice, no phone call, no email, no snail mail. Credit Unions are not regulated or held as accountable as the big banks.

I was told that my account was a no fee account. After I'd set up my direct deposits and withdrawals they sent me an email telling me that my account would now need to be paid a monthly fee. Now, i will close my account with connect first and set up with a free bank. Feels like I was lied to. It's also a major inconvenience for me. Time is valuable

This week I called Connect Credit Union with a basic request.************************** responded to my call and demonstrated, in my opinion, a high level of professionalism and expertise. When unable to continue the call, she called me back within only a few minutes. She called me back three times during the day. Tej kindly sent me the information I needed even before I asked! When I requested a further ******* of **** she wisely requested the aid of her manager. In every call, *** was respectful and asked repeatedly if there was anything else she could help with. I am very satisfied with ***'s ******* and highly recommend a commendation for her.

I had a truck loan thru connect first and after year and a half I had 11 payments of 347$ reverse charged and my loan total increased. I was not notified and wasnt until a year later when I looked back at my yearly statements that I seen this. **** ** ******** Do not recommend this company for anything!!

I came to Calgary in 1975. I joined Calgary Credit Union. That changed to First Calgary. I enjoyed over 40 years of professional, kind and more than capable service. Then in 2022 it all went away with the change to Connect First. For the past two years, many staff left because as I was told by severalThings have changed. That is a grave understatement. Ive had 4 mortgages with Calgary Credit Union and First Calgary. No issues whatsoever. 7 months ago I asked for a $6000 cash deposit to be put into a TFSA. I signed the receipt thinking the teller was putting my cash into a TFSA. She instead put it into a RRSP which was transferred to a RIFF because my RRSPs were full. Because Im over 70 years of age, our beloved income tax people deemed it as income and as a result I had to pay the government $4100.00 on my 2023 income tax. I met with the higher iOS at Connect First. What a JOKE! They accepted absolutely no responsibility even though I admitted I was partly to blame. Still they tried hanging up on me. I left the meeting telling them my business with this bank was OVER!If youre thinking of joining this bank, please do not. Their investment advisors are no more that regular tellers. 42 years of banking came to an end today. What a JOKE.

I routinely receive an email requesting my review of my experience at the bank. I did not this time. So I sought out the review page to ensure to leave one on this particular experience. On Wednesday May 1st I went to Connect First ** *** **** *******. Every Single Time I receive this particular teller her ignorance and curt behaviour shines through. I did not have patience for it on Wednesday. I have told her multiple times, "I am hearing impaired". She asked me for my name. I gave her my debit card. Frowning at it she shoved the card back in my direction. No ID no debit needed. My name is all that is protecting my funds? Family dynamics can be toxic. If I had a twin sister who provided my name... I mentioned this to her and her body language was "I know best". I think this is ludicrous. Her response to my hearing impairment on Wednesday was yelling at me. Here we are dealing with confidential matters and this teller is yelling at me? I put up my hand in a stop gesture and told her not to yell. She became very defensive and when I informed her that in fact her tone and volume was yelling she had the audacity to state "I'm sorry you feel that way, I wasn't yelling." No I will not tolerate that kind of discrimination and arrogance. I know my rights as a human and disabled person. I grabbed my bag, stepped to my right and began yelling myself. Yelling for customer service and accommodation. Are my finances secure in a bank that employes and does not educate the front liners on proper social etiquette? *** ** * *** ****** ***** First Calgary may have underwent renovations. I'd argue the personnel prior, at least the tellers that I encountered, were far better mannered, educated, and professional. The management and associates of this bank need a serious course on people skills and proper social etiquette. There are a diverse range of clients: colour, race, religion, sexual orientation, disablility, etc. Your lack of professionalism in 2024 is disturbing.

Have been with Connect First since 2017. They used to be First Calgary and they were fantastic. Now for the last 2 years there is never ending issues such as cards not working, transfer issues, slow deposits, e-transfer issues, cant login in cause they are doing maintenance at least 2 times a month of which they wont fix till the next day and finally I had a unaccredited business that is not BBB accredited take $20 from me. They would not put a stop to it, they said they would charge me basically the same amount to stop the withdrawals. They just drop the ball and pass the buck. Looking into changing banks cause this c*** is getting ridiculous.

This is by far the worst bank i have ever been with, they have CONSTANT issues with debit cards, with online banking, you cant even log into your bank app if you get a new device without having to call their completely useless customer service line, which by the way, will not even pick up your call, ever, at any point. I cant even tell you the amount of times I have been ******* **** by this technologically challenged (to put it gently) bank.

These guys sent me a new bank card almost a month ago and forced me to activate it, and now I can't make 90% of the online purchases I used to be able to make. They just keep telling me that it's a 3rd party company that they get the cards from and that we will have to wait for a fix on their end.. lovely, a bank that can't control fixes to members who literally can't pay bills. Yes, online banking payments work for utilities, but not for distributors. I'm now starting to lose customers and refund deposits because I literally can not purchase what I have promised.. And i bet it's "Only going to get better" once this Servus Credit Union merger happens. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BANK FOR BUSINESS BANKING - AT LEAST UNTIL THEY GET THEIR CARDS DEALT WITH.
