We are Sponsor Energy – a socially
conscious energy broker that was founded with a clear goal in mind – to
provide excellent, low cost energy plans to Canadian households and to
support local charities doing great work in our province.
We are proud to be Alberta-based! We
have been in business nearly 10 years and have experienced steep growth
due to our unwavering support for local charities, our ultra-competitive
prices on power and gas and our excellent customer support.
We serve tens of thousands of
customers across Alberta and expanding our services (particularly
internet, cellular & TV) into British Columbia and across the

The customer had already pointed out to us on Friday July 5, 2024 that the response email he got did not match our current pricing. We received his complaint at 6:18pm and literally within the hour after receiving his concern we responded, thanked him for pointing this out, and we launched an investigation. As it turns out he was right, and by 7pm we had corrected the automatic response messaging. This did in no way affected his sign up contractual sign up pricing. It was an old hard coded message so effectively, it was an auto response with a typo.
We responded to his email with a deep apology as soon as we were able to investigate on a Friday night and explained what happened. Instead of accepting that it was a clerical error, the 'customer' already wrote a negative ****** review and another negative review to the BBB. We really hope that he will reconsider his review in light of our immediate response, our acknowledgement that there was a mistake when our prices were updated (lowered) in the system which duplicated an admin fee that should not have been there. This was an honest mistake, addressed as quickly as possible on a weekend and we hope that he will see that. We are a small, independent, local company who relies on reviews to help spread the word and keep our prices very competitive with the big guys.
This has been fixed, and apologized for. We don't know what we don't know and that he pointing it out was very helpful to us. Please share this with the customer and offer that we will cancel his application or carry on with the enrollment per his request as we have already relayed to him.
