1 starHorrendous experience with this company. We ended up having to hire ******* ****** to release our belongings from their warehouse (a WCB nightmare) as they kept delaying delivery. Our furniture was mostly broken, crammed into a small space with no regard for "Fragile" labelling. *** ****** ****** took photos and videos of the ABYSSMAL conditions. The move ended up costing us double our budget and this company refused to compensate us adequately for a move they did not ultimately perform. STAY AWAY! Zero stars if that was an option.Review fromMary B

1 starDo NOT use this company. When our furniture was delivered there was thousands of dollars worth of damage. Wooden furniture was broken and scratched, wrought iron furniture had broken legs, fragile boxes were crushed, and one chair is still missing. They take no responsibility for a duty to care for your belongings, and refused to follow up with us about damaged goodsReview fromLes B

1 starWorst moving company, they are extortionist and incompetent. We got quoted for our move, which was mid range price but they never sent out an estimator like everyone else. The day of the move 2 guys showed up, very pleasant but we were confused of only 2 people as we had a large house. Needless to say we kept asking where everyone else was ? They kept calling dispatch but said staff are sick etc. this was a concern as we had heavy items and we even called dispatch to see about this, we get told to call friends or family to help !! WE HIRED THEM TO DO A WEEKDAY MOVE!! . They finish at 8pm with half the truck full and said they will be back the next day, sure enough 2 hrs after they call they on way they show up, start loading and then say their truck was too small .. that they got told it was a 2 bedroom house not a 4 bedroom with basement, so they leave to grab a Uhaul. By this time our cleaners are there and we help out everything into the driveway. As wife is catching a flight and I’m driving our vehicles up. They assure us they will be done and at our place the next evening (province to province move). Next day we call at 6 pm to ask for an update from driver and they said they just got to Calgary and will drive up next day as they had to go back in the morning to grab the the last of our stuff . THE HOUSE WAS ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE NEW OWNERS AT NOON !!. They also state they grabbed a bunch of garbage from new owners that they wanted gone . That evening we get a email stating we will get our stuff when it’s paid in full !!! The new price was 3 x original quote, we had to run to bank and get transfer the next morning to send them the amount they needed and told rudely they all work like this. The drivers didn’t show up till following day, took 9 hrs to unload and it was only half our stuff . They had to drive back the following day and delayed 4 days to Vancouver to grab the rest of our stuff , we get another charge 3 x original quote . 11 days total .Review fromroshan d

1 starHorrible experience with this moving company. Please read the reviews before you choose this moving company. As soon as you call to move, Lowena will assure you with a sweet voice that you have chosen the best company to move and she will desperately want to trap you in the pit. They came up with lots of stuff in the truck and never weighed it before or after they loaded. They took it all the way to Calgary to weight and the weight came up with 3000 pounds exactly. When asked why it was exactly 3000 pounds Lowena was arrogant and shouted at the phone saying, "Are you saying that we are stealing money" and never picked up the call. The reason I asked for weight was that in the contract it says up to 3000 pounds or less, there is 1500 dollars for the first 1000 pounds and the rest will be charged at .80 cents/pounds. Even when your stuff is 3500 pounds in weight. So the trick to steal your money is if your stuff is between 3000 pounds and 35000, they will make sure the weight is either 3000 or slightly less on the weight scale. That way they can get 700 dollars from you simply by changing the weight. Let's say the weight of my stuff was 3200 pounds, the amount should be 2560(3200x .80). This they either round up to 3000 pounds or less than 3000 pounds which will give them this amount, which is ( 1500 for the first 1000 pounds, plus 2000 x .80 pounds =1600. the total is 3100). This way they steal 540 dollars simply by adjusting the final weight. So beware that they will not weigh your stuff close to your house even if they have a government-approved weighing scale close to you. They will not reweigh your stuff even if you ask. As soon as you pay your 500-dollar deposit, they will steal money by various charges. Lowena will trick you over the phone by saying various things to trap you until you sign and give 500 deposit. Please go with the company that gives you exact payment details. Don't trust any single word given by Lowena.Review fromDavid S

1 starBad Moving Company!Save your Time, ****************** All the negative reviews are true! It starts with the poor customer service. Lowina the relocation specialists (not sure how she got that title) is very assuring with a phony attitude that you made a good decision, but as soon as they have your deposit everything changes. They don't return your calls or e mails. I used my sisters phone because once your phone number comes up they won't answer. Once ****** knew it was me she was very rude, told me to call dispatch who also doesn't return phone calls or e mails, she hung up on me twice! The weight of my furniture supposedly came in at **** lbs, if its under **** lbs Midwest chargers you an extra $1300.00 I asked in an e mail twice for a copy of the weight scale ticket to verify. Of course there was no reply! They ask for the remaining balance up front or you don't get your furniture. The day they moved me, I asked where was my couch, the movers said they couldn't get it into the elevator and left it in the entrance. They said they had to leave to go do another delivery. I had to ask a person in the building if he could help me put the couch in the elevator and move it out on the floor I was moving on. I had to go to tell the movers to go finish the job and move the couch into the Apt. Unbelievable!! Avoid the Bad experience and go with a reliable Mover!Review fromNemoire B

1 starThe pick-up went fairly smooth and the movers in ******* were very good. No damage to the walls and nice experienced gentlemen. We even gave them a tip. They were however short on moving blankets which I think partially contributed to the damage.I began to try to communicate with mid-western prior to our move in date to get a delivery date set up. Eventually I received a response from mid-western regarding a delivery date. It came as a surprise that I had to pay in full prior to delivery however, I do understand why now. We had quite a bit of damage to our goods. The movers that delivered in ************ are not movers. They were friendly enough but consistently complained about how heavy things were. They first refused to call out tag numbers so we could check off the list, which blew me away. I eventually convinced them to call out the numbers and they reluctantly agreed. Halfway through the move they announced that they were only placing boxes on the main floor, also blew me away more. I had to hump all the boxes and distribute them throughout the house. (aka the movers job) as per the original quote. "Door to door" Room to room". I don't know how much clearer that statement is. They were texting someone from dispatch I think who texted back to tell them to drop everything in the driveway and leave, blown away again. When I spoke with her on the phone, she was aggressive, loud, and rude. The movers informed me that this is the usual occurrence with deliveries, damaged good and upset clients. To summarize, ******* was great besides being very short on moving blankets. From ******* on, brutal experience and we feel ripped off and offended by the whole fiasco. I feel so bad for anyone else that will choose Mid-western that I almost want to quit my carrier and apply to manage Mid-western myself so they don't get a chance to rip anyone else off. We still have an outstanding claim and missing items.Review fromTiffany P.

1 starPlease please save yourself the stress and go with another company. I used mid-west moving back in 2020 and had little issue (just the delivery was delayed a few days and hard to get a response to when it was coming) but when I used them Aug/Sept 2022 it was a NIGHTMARE. The pickup on Aug 12th went okay. I had most of the boxes in the garage for easy loading. The problems started after. We originally asked for delivery on September 1st giving double the time to make it across the country then they need. leading up to the day we hear nothing and still have not received our final invoice. After calling and emailing nothing so I sent a estimate request under my husbands name and sure enough within an hour we get a call. This lady gave me the phone number to the dispatch lady who would not answer calls just text messages and that was a crapshoot. Long story short we got our delivery on September 18th. 17 days late without an apology or discount and when asked for a discount was told if we do not pay in full they will not delivery our stuff. When they unloaded the truck we took the time to check in all the boxes and furniture. After going over the paperwork we have 3 boxes that were stollen from us! One being a brand new Vitamix we just purchased before leaving and two boxes of kitchen stuff (all-clade pots and pans and basic kitchen tools) As if this was not enough EVERY piece of furniture was damaged. Our bed frame that I asked them to wrap 3 times and was told yeah yeah was not wrapped and had major dents in the wood.Needless to day after many tears I reached out to the company only to be told pay the deductible and file a claim and if approved you will get $0.60/lb Bottom line, yes they are cheap but what is the cost of replacing your belongings because that is what you will end up needing to do with this company.
