I have informed *******, the owner of A Family of Trades regarding the deficiencies and damages by his siding person. He even came out to look at things and to tell me he would make things right in April 2022. Since then I have not heard from ******* and he refuses to return my many phone calls. The worst thing is I cant even get an invoice from him to prove to my insurance company to prove the work was done. This means I am not getting my insurance discount for upgrading my shingles.I am to the point that Ill just hire someone to fix the deficiencies and damages and purchase items he was supposed to for the job but I WANT MY INVOICE!!!!He was given the full cheque from my insurance company for the job plus the deductible that was refunded to me. He complained to me that he lost money on my job almost like I should offer to pay him more, which I did not do.

Our customer was very happy with the finished product and the many extras we included. I can come up with many excuses as to our follow up. With that said there are no excuses. As the owner I take full responsibility. I have personally attended to the matter, and is to my understanding the issues have been addressed. We continue to strive to be the best. Thanks ******************

.March28, 2022 paid $1102.50. .Job started April 17, 2022. .See invoice ******** for what company committed to provide. .Nature of dispute = poor workmanship/ very bad job. .Business offered to have helper come to repaint but helper told me "painting is not in my wheel house and I am not confident to repair this". Also, *** ***** helper was the one who did the drywall mudding..Supporting docs = invoice. Unable to upload pictures of finished job, list of concerns on first walk through..Pictures speak for themselves. Family of Trades two thumbs down:.Three ceilings, Kit, bdrm, bath in small home.. ********* pics of mess left & of the "finished" kitchen (he offered to send his helper, who is not a painter or a drywaller, to redo the ceiling but it was the helper who did the drywall mudding - *** ****). ******* said he is a 'master painter' but has fallen far short on this job. The list is what had to be addressed on the first walk thru (kit just started), didn't put down plastic the 2nd day & left drywall dust everywhere he'd walked over my bed. Spilled paint on driveway, said helper will powerwash but it's still here. Also ** REQUIRED TO PAY UP FRONT.. I've asked for a refund- even 1/2 so I can pay someone to fix it- but they won't.

We apologize that we could not satisfy you and believe we went beyond and above.

. Fixed numerous drywall deficiencies(customer even said you were not hired for drywall, we did it anyway to provide a better job

. Used a moisture detector in many area and showed customer how saturated in some areas ceiling, especially near sky light and kitchen window was. She suggested that the siding may be the problem, I personally inspected siding and yes it was poorly repaired.

. I had a roofer come in as well, and he suggested to myself and to customer that she had a seized turbine, which means she would have inadequate ventilation, and therefore condensation and moisture issue.

. I did walk through with customer, and she did not like the sheen of the paint sealer. I went out of pocket and purchased more paint and repainted all areas. We did another walk through, and the next day, client paid us in full to refinish her deck. The day after, she demanded a refund for the deck which we gladly obliged, she became ******* through text messages and I decided, that was not acceptable, and stubbornly refused to return. Even then I offered to send a helper to try and apply more paint, her and my helper seemed to think they were not capable, truth be told he has worked with me on many jobs, he simply did not want to return either. His exact words to me was that customer said she has never had a good contractor other than her landscaper.

. Client is right about pictures tell the story, and if you look closely, you will see where the paint doesnt want to adhere properly, even though ceilings now have 4 plus coats of paint. We are sorry we ever took on this work, and are sorrier we could not please this client. Thanks ****************

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:  1./   As can be seen from photos, they appear to not be qualified to do drywall.  Helper is a furniture refinisher, who did the mudding and he was definately not qualified. I watched his attempts and tried to help with tips on more efficient technique. I had eight years experience as a drywaller and feel competent to make this observation.

The term 'saturation' is inaccurate and misleading. Reading was slightly elevated. It was discussed that another possible source could simply be the temperature flucuation in the skylight due to sun.  The siding is not as nice as I'd like but it functions perfectly well and is not damaged.   Roofer said turbine was siezed but roof is in perfect condition.  I purchased new turbine, another contractor come to install however, when he got up on the roof he discovered that the existing turbine was not siezed after all and to return the new one.

Job ongoing for weeks and during this time my belongings, plants, etc. in cupboards and in my living room. House was in state of construction. I was very eager to have them out when we did the final walk through. It took a day to see the ceilings for what they were and, as lighting conditions changed, the deficiencies were glaring.

I take exception to the word ******* and insist that he supply supporting documents.  I am happy to supply screen shots.

the helper has yet to come back to power spray their spilled paint off my driveway.   I believe, technically, this would be considered 'damage'.

No problem with "paint adhering".  Whole patches were missed and wall not cut in.  I have many more areas than this, on both my kitchen and bedroom ceilings, but this form only allows for four pictures.  I can supply more so that a more comprehensive understanding of this awful can be had.  Please note that one panel of the skylight was only cut in and then missed complely.

I have email thread that finishes our contact

No spilled paint. There was a lot of what I would call pidgin du du. My helper offered at no charge to pressure wash her driveway. She was to *******, so he decided not to go back. As for missing paint, as per previous email we repainted using ******************************* door and trim paint. Not something generally used on ceilings, original paint we used was ******************************* multi purpose. She was not happy with the sheen. I personally took the extra cost and time to take a paint brush and apply some paint on her ceiling to make sure she would be happy with the new paint, and specifically told her this paint although excellent is not generally used on ceilings. She agreed and liked the sheen so we went out of pocket again and applied the product.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

previously stated: he is the Master painter . What do I know from door and trim paint? The pictures speak clearly to his work .

Please have the helper speak for himself. These claims of ***** are outrageous. My driveway has no bird waste on it and the spilled paint is still there. I have tried to spray it off myself and it wont go. The helper stated that he did not feel qualified to finish the painters job. I have voice recordings of our telephone conversation. Thank goodness I kept as much evidence, pictures, texts and audio as I did. Why does this person keep making excuses & lies??    See pictures and texts please.  They contradict everything he says. I think he will always play victim rather than taking accountability for his actions
      Sincerely,
