    Price 4x4 in *************************** put a liftkit on my truck and didn't torque one of the wheels, the drivers wheel fell off on a busy highway cauae an accident he verbally told my husband he would pay for repairs which are sitting at $3400 when I took the receipts to him for payment now he is refusing when at first he admitted to being at fault

    **** verbally agreed to pay all expenses due to his negligence in the matter, **** comforted with the bill he back peddles his story as he now refuses to pay.

    The vehicle is a 2019 Dodge ram 2500 which we installed a 2.5" lift kit , ALL wheels were torqued to 140 ft/lbs upon completion (no vehicle leaves our shop without the wheels being torqued). The vehicle was then driven 840 km without the wheels being retorqued. (wheels need to be retorqued within 150km). The owner had phoned myself on my cell phone from his cell phone while I was driving and the call was cutting in and out. He told me that a wheel had come loose and asked what should he do. Not knowing exactly what the circumstances were, I told him he will have to take it to a shop and we will go from there. The repairs at the shop it was taken to were from a wheel coming loose because the wheels were never retorqued after it left our shop. What else could we have done to prevent this. ALL wheels were torqued to the proper specification of 140 ft/lbs after the work was done. After a vehicle leaves our shop it is out of our hands and up to the customer to have them retorqued. The owners wife keeps stating that one of the wheels was left loose at our shop, if this was the case (which it isn't) how could it have possibly made it 840km. If this incident was our fault then the expenses would be paid for but that just isn't the case here. A simple wheel retorque is all that was needed to prevent this situation. We have been in Business for 24 years and have been in good standing with the BBB.

    I am rejecting this response because: **** did not torque the wheels and I have no clue why he is saying my husband drove over 800 kms without touches the wheels. Also notes **** is a shady person and no where on his invoices does he Instruct to retorque wheels I have checked his invoice out. He kept saying he didn't want to ruin friendships etc but his lactlk of attention to detail could of resulted in my husband's death.

    I have read the statement From ********************* and at no time did I say that the wheels were torqued to 110 ft/lbs, this must have been misheard, as I Stated earlier the call was cutting in and out on my end. The wheels were torqued to 140 ft/lbs as per the specification for that truck. Most trucks even half tons call for a wheel torque of ******* ft/lbs. I set the torque wrench myself. Nothing leaves our shop without the wheels being torqued to the proper spec.
