September of 2023 we provided a deposit of $20,000 to view a home that Wades Moving had listed on thier website. In a phone call to *******, we were aware that someone else was viewing the home first and they subsequently purchased the home. I both phoned and sent an e-mail requesting how we would get our deposit back. ******* sent information on another home, encouraging us to have a look at it. We were not interested, and I began the process of requesting the return of our refund. On January 9th, January 24th, April 1st and May 22nd I followed up with e-mails on the request. I also left messages requesting a return call and stating that we were wanting our deposit returned. I received responses to the effect of the cheque is in the mail, we are short staffed, etc. To date we have yet to have the deposit returned and the business has stopped responding to my e-mails or phone messages. I have copies of all of the e-mails if that is required, and obviously the contract as well.Initial Complaint

We paid Wade's House Moving a deposit of $60,375 in October of 2022 for a house they could not provide - the seller backed out. There is still an outstanding balance of approx. $9000 plus interest, legal fee and travel expenses to collect balance. My husband is almost 79 and I am 71. We sent a deposit of $16,590 to Wades House Moving to view a house to potentially purchase and move on March 25, 2024. We signed a contract stating that it would be fully refundable (item 6.5 in the contract) at the same time. We went up and viewed the house on April 7, 2024. At that time a lot of red flags came up, such as the lady that came to show us the home had never seen the home before, it was evident that the pictures and drawings from the website were inaccurate, and there was confusion on what exactly would and wouldnt be moved with the house. After viewing the home, we decided that we did not to continue with the purchase because of their verbal inconsistencies and unrealizable guarantees. We informed Wades Moving of our decision on April 8 and requested our deposit back. We understood that based on the contract it would take 30 days to receive. On May 10 we reached out to see if there was an update on when we would receive our refund and we told that accounting was forwarded our inquiry and they would attend to the matter. On May 17th we emailed again and received no reply On May 23rd we reached out again and were told that the cheque would be in the mail by the end of May. Since then we have emailed on June 3, 7, 11, and 18th with 2 phone calls during that time and have received no reply. We are just wanting to receive our deposit back as that is a substantial amount of money.Thank you for any assistance you can provide.Initial Complaint

In October 2023, we were looking at the possibility of moving a house onto a property that we own, and an internet search and some local recommendations brought us to Wade's House Moving. Speaking with *******, the owner, we had a good feeling, but to move forward you have to pay a 10% deposit (paid 18-Oct-2023) to view the homes - to keep the tire kickers out. That's fine, as the contract stated that it was 100% refundable and ******* assured us that the refunds were prompt. We looked at a few homes, the experience was good, but the properties weren't right for us so we decided not to proceed. On 23 Nov 2023 we we request a refund of our $9240 and this was acknowledged by ******. Given that we expected the refund (that was "allow 30 days to process') around Christmas time, we gave the small business time to get back and requested an update on 8 Jan 2024. 9-Jan response from ****** was "...I do apologize for the delay. The last while has been a lot and December was a crazy month! I was out of the office for most, ..... I am back at work today, and I have a pile to go through. I will be processing this week and will let you know once completed and in the mail. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding and have a great day! *******."Since then we have had nice but not solid emails to every follow-up request. 15-Jan ***** requesting update 29-Jan ***** 2-Feb Phone-call requesting update 2-Feb ***** 6-Feb called Mastercard about options 6-Feb ***** 8-Feb ***** 8-Feb - ****** responded. On Dec.13, 2023 we were pressured into sending a $15,000 fully refundable deposit to secure the 2nd spot in line to view a house they were selling. The party with the first spot in line to the view the house bought it and now we are left trying to get our money back. We have emailed several times and phoned several times as well, always being told the accounting person is out of the office and will call us back. We have received no calls back and when we phone their office at the stated time that accounting is available we have someone tell us that accounting isnt in today and theyll call us in the morning when theyre back in the office.Initial Complaint

****** took our home from us about a week ago and has yet to pay us for the home. We were promised payment as soon as they started to prep the home for removal and delivery to the buyer which was over a week ago. They have not returned our phone calls and it has taken multiple emails to get a response that they would e-transfer us the funds. Still no e-transfer and no phone calls back to address the lack of payment. Terrible customer service and they are a week late with our payment as we the sellers. I should note that the house buyers paid ****** back in Feb-Mar 2023 for our house so they should have the funds to pay us as their business model is to take deposits on homes from buyers on the front end and not pay sellers until the homes are moved off the lot. Like a legal real estate transaction, we were expecting payment same day as the house was moved off our property and not have to track down payment after multiple phone calls and emails. Now they will not respond to phone calls and allude to a bank hold as being the problem for paying us the $20,000 they owe us. They have STILL NOT PAID us the $20,000.Initial Complaint

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a complaint against Wade's House Moving for its unethical business practices. We canceled our contract with them six months ago and have been struggling to retrieve our deposit ever since.Wade's House Moving acknowledges that we are entitled to a minimum of ******* but has refused to return any of our money. Despite multiple attempts to communicate with them, they have been unresponsive, forcing us to consider legal action in order to recover the full amount as per the ******** Consumer Protection Act.It is disappointing to see that Wade's House Moving is not operating in good faith or in line with the "family values" they claim to have. We regret not taking heed of the warnings from other reviews, people, and professionals who had shared their concerns about their lack of good business ethics* *** ** ********* *** ****** ******** ****** ** observe the number of occasions this company gets negative reviews for the way they handle deposits. We have faced significant difficulty in communicating with Wade's House Moving since canceling our contract. They have over 15000$ of my money for over 15 weeks and "the cheque is in the mail". 15 weeks! It does not take 15 weeks to return MY deposit to me we saw a house we were interested in purchasing and having moved onto land. In order to even view the house you need to put down a 10% deposit. I wired the money Aug 23 and set up a time to view the home over Sept long weekend. After viewing the home we decided the house needed too much work and wasn't worth the money. Sept 6th I asked for my deposit (which is supposed to be 100% refundable) back. From then they wouldn't confirm if my cheque had been sent. They stated it takes minimum 2 weeks for a refund to be processed. Weeks went by, communication stopped. I finally got through to ******* and was told she'd send my cheque out that week, the week of Nov 1, they were just SOO short staffed. The cheque never arrived. I've now read other reviews of the "cheque getting lost in the mail" numerous times. It is now Dec 20! Last week I was again told she would send the cheque out and get back to me within 1-2 days to update me and the lawyer I had to get involved. I was in the market to buy a rtm/ mobile home and wades house moving buys and sells used homes. Nov, 29/2021 I put a $16,590 deposit down on a house I really liked. Had to put the 10% down to view home. After multiple plans to view and weather conditions stopping it from happening I received email that house has been put on hold by sellers that wades house moving was working with due to family emergency. This happened on dec. 21/21 After this I was told I could leave my deposit with them in the home category options and if they find another home that works for me I have first chance at it. Any time I want my deposit back will be processed and mailed back within 2 weeks as contract states. After few different homes that I did not like August of 2022 I made the decision to buy a rtm new. Aug 2/22 I requested my deposit back from wades house moving, with no response I sent follow up email aug 26/22 and was told its being processed. From that time I have emailed and called multiple times always with the response that super busy but going get on it right away and send cheque. Last 2 emails I Have sent they stopped replying. Contract i signed with them it says deposit refund needs up to 2 weeks to be processed they are now at 3.5 months and still will not refund my deposit
