  A gentleman came over to fix my fireplace November 7. He was here 45 minutes and charged me. $351.75 He said he would need some parts to finish. Today I called to ask when I could expect them to be over here to finish the job. They said they will put together an estimate and have it ready tomorrow! An estimate!! They claim I never asked for them to proceed with the work! Its been a month. They were very rude on the phone.

  Service was very good, no complaints, tech arrived on time, notified me 30 minutes prior to arrival, was very professional and congenial. But what they charge is insane. $235.00 for the first 30 minutes, $200.00 for every hour thereafter. ($50.00 per 15 minutes).I had a new motor installed in my electric fireplace, (and a couple of lightbulbs replaced). Cost me $958.65. I did ask the Installer how much the motor would be and he advised me around $450.Had of I been advised of the total amount BEFORE the installation, I would have nixed it because I could have bought a brand new fireplace for less than than the repair. I wasn't thinking clearly for sure, I did not think that labour for 90 minutes would come to $435.00, I take ownership of that.My son in law had the exact same replacement on his F/P 2 years ago and paid $485.00.My advice would be to shop around, I wish I had.

  Thank you for the review, and kind comments about our team and **************. We would like to clarify some of your concerns and hope you revise your review. Although we understand the repair was costly, there is value in repairing the fireplace. The prices you mentioned were quoted to you in writing by email December 6 2023 when you booked the call for January 4 this year. Parts are quoted on site, as your tech did, as there is no way of knowing what you might need ahead of time until the tech comes to your house, tests and determines the issue(s). The charges you laid out in your review were exactly as quoted.As for your sons repair a couple years ago, without any reference we cannot quote, but prices of electric fireplace parts (and all fireplace parts) have gone up substantially over the past few years, and this is a world-wide problem with not only parts but freight.A new heating fireplace of the same caliber as yours by Dimplex, would be in the $3000 range- that would include removal and disposal of the old fireplace, installation and set-up of the new one, and a custom perimeter trim. If you wanted to go for a less expensive non-heating fireplace, installed price would be closer to $2300. There are no heater-rated fireplaces of this quality that could be installed for less than the repair you had done.
