Red Brick Chimney e -transfer **** deposit to Mike V* March 21st for work he never started , now not required and delinquent for refund. I have a copy of his hand writing on his company Form detailed estimate , dated March21 st 2022 and stating 1- 1/2 mos. to COMPLETE.. He never called or contacted me when detailed voice messages were left in April, May, June. . June 26th I informed him again by voice mail his services were no longer required as we had awater leak and flood damage and a complete take down was being considered I asked for a refund and communicated directly he could be contracted for the future takedown work if Architecturally approved. I then repeated my request for a refund and threatened and please communicate or my next course is to go to BBB on July 16/2022. He immediately called back, swearing and accusing me of "Being one of those guys", & " he knows how to deal with me " , " he saved me Money". I asked him to please reconsider and do the right thing as no service or product was exchanged . He became abusive. I have reviewed him honestly and will contact the roofing company (*) that referred him. His online ****** page & ******  review mirrors the experience I had. It is unprincipled Contracting. Anger and conflict do not help find positive solutions. I offered to include him in the takedown and silence for 2 months....then aggression and inappropriate language. BBB must clearly ensure that my refund is returned or review and discipline or dismiss this Business. A refund of my 500 deposit please.

Base on the contract written on March 21 /2022 , we both agree  to re-build the chimney from roofline -up ,New hooded pot and crown and new chimney flashing , sealant and wait for better weather then to do the work but the good weather not come till late June so we can’t do nothing . He called me one but I didn’t not respond maybe I was busy then and forgot about it then second called  I got he message from voicemail said he no longer need my service due to his flooding/leaking basement so it’s need to remove the entire chimney down . I call him back and  offer him to do exactly what on the contract with in two weeks time He refuse well then  I can’t  refund your deposit ,very simple  understand in this trade and tell him if i do the work before the flood happen you would cost more than $500 .
      Thanks ,
      Mike V*

I have detailed the complaint as not having completed the work within 2-3 weeks of estimate as written on March 21. The client did not respond to calls and messages left after not showing to complete work. When contacted in June after accidental flooding in our home, we asked that he confirm cancellation of our contract and refund the deposit as services were not provided and we need to contact architects/ structural engineers to determine the repairs and renovations. After several unreturned calls informing him of our situation and offering him the potential to deconstruct the chimney ,if possible, and earning part of the renovation contract, I made a final call to say we are asking the BBB to intervene.
      He called back within minutes threatening --------" I know how to deal with guys like you"---- sorry Mike V*, **** *** *** ***** ***** ** ** ** ******** ** ******* Your swearing is unacceptable, but I can tolerate it. *********** * ****** ** ******** ** ******** ******* *** ************ ********** *** *********** ** **** *****

As we discussed, your business BBB , as a representative of Red Brick Chimney member is clearly a mistake . I’m not responding or wasting time as I discussed with you. He has repeated this illegal and unsavory business process of taking a deposit on estimate , waste time and delay on the work, curse the owners, and no refunds when warranted . A pattern ?
      Have you read his reviews?
BBB what is it good for?

      500$ refund now and I’ll take my ****** * **** reviews down.

      Thanks ,
