2 starsthe website says: CAEL excavator attachments are built to withstand the rigors of heavy-duty construction and excavation work, offering exceptional durability and longevity.I beg to differ.I bought a 2.5T Excavator in May, 2024 with a maximum digging force (kN): 22.5. Recently, while using the machine to dig a water-proofing trench in January, in a mix of dirt and ***** the semi-circular brackets that attach the bucket to the arm broke. BOTH! At the same time! If the machine cannot handle the Canadian winter - they should be marketed as such.I reached out to the manufacturer b/c it was still under warranty and they said that they can support the replacement of ONE bracket - but NOT two. TWO brackets breaking at the same time suggests there was misuseof the machine by us, rather than admitting inferior materials are used in the construction of the excavator. The brackets are made of cast steel, which we could only tell once it broke apart. Cast steel is the weakest and cheapest steel they could have used for such an integral part of the excavator!DO NOT BUY CAEL products. There are many other manufacturers who make a far superior product, with supportive warranty programs, that can handle a Canadian winter.Review fromKyong P

This company has to be selling the most shoddy equipment i have ever experienced. When i unwrapped the 12k hoist it had suffered extreme damage and should have sent it back immediately. But instead they sent me new cables, control cables and shrouding.Which came in about 1 month. Was building a shop so this was not a problem.Being a millwright i started repairs and found no lubrication on any of the internal rollers and pulleys. Damaged bushings. When servicing the non damaged side it was the ******* this time I did not disassemble the entire unit but this was still much work.On the initial start up one inner column would hang 4" off the floor. discovered it was bent and interfering with the sliding trolley. The unit had been dropped from considerable height to do this. With hydraulics was able to repair.First time i lifted a Dodge 3/4 ton truck there was a bang and damage side failed to the point of no safety engagement on locking mechanism. There was danger of truck falling into the side of hoist from 5ft in the air.On disassembly of unit, I now know there is no quality control involved in the manufacture of the hoist.Mounting pads for the glides are all over the map. over 1/4" instead of thousands or an inch.Whoever put it together could not have measured any fabrication specs but instead ground the glide material into wedges to be able to assemble. This guaranteed the the hoist would fail. Also top brace for the column was so far out it jammed the hoist which made it seize when glides were properly fitted. Main column also not consistent. When i gave them photo evidence of the defective column they gleefully informed me my warrantee was up after lifting 1 heavy vehicle. But we will sell you parts.Even if they sent me new parts they would not have fit as each glide had to be individually fit. After paying what i though was a premium for a heavier hoist i got junk. BEWARE of CAEL quality Was going to order a tire changer and balancer. ****Capital Automotive Equipment Ltd

We bought a 30X40 foot single truss shelter from this company, which is CSA approved for winter. Within 2 months and a very mild winter, the shelter collapsed. Numerous attempts were made to find a resolution as the damage to contents was quite large, capital automotive stated this was not their problem. This is very poor customer service and in my opinion appalling.Capital Automotive Equipment Ltd

Hello,Thank you for sharing your experience. We are genuinely sorry to hear about the issues with the 30x40 foot single truss shelter and the resulting damage. We would like to clarify a few points regarding the shelter's specifications and maintenance. Our shelters are designed to withstand winter conditions, but it is crucial to follow specific maintenance guidelines to ensure their performance. One important guideline is to regularly clear snow from the shelters roof, as accumulated snow can put additional stress on the structure.Additionally, the area where you are located is known for strong weather conditions. For such environments, we typically recommend a double truss design, which offers greater durability and support. The single truss shelter was selected as a more cost-effective option, which may not have been sufficient for the extreme conditions in your area.Regarding our company policy, we do not provide a warranty on shelters once they are fully assembled. We cover parts if they are damaged or defective before installation. We regret if this policy was not clearly communicated or if it contributed to your frustration. Please contact us directly .so we can discuss your situation further and work towards a resolution. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we want to address any remaining concerns you may have.Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to resolve this matter to your satisfaction.Best regards,Review fromEric D

Hello ****, Firstly from the photos you sent over of your hoist it was not shown that the lift was "worn out", there are many factors which include user error being the cause of the lift not working, however we have been helping fix this problem by sending out multiple parts to you, all free of cost for the parts and shipping fees to your address We have now shipped out 4 different parts and will be shipping out the last piece this week to your address, We have shipped out two sets of adaptors, both full columns in the post, and both full arms for the hoist, including the pads. These components make up for more than half the hoist and they have all been shipped out to you, we have been working with you to resolve your problem.Review fromPaul H

1 stari bought a 2 post ***** lb lift from Capital automotive equipment and had a **** lb 3/4 ton truck up about 18 inches to do the brakes. the bracket that holds the arms ripped right off on the one side and the truck fell. lucky no one was hurt. they will replace the part that failed but i doubt i will ever use this again for anything unless the parts have been upgraded. anyone who owns one of these lift be very careful its just a matter of time till someone gets killed . i actually thought if anything was going to fail it would have been one of the arms since they flex a lot and the welds don't look very good
