Automotive Training Centre of ******, ** (Course: Sept 27/21 - Aug 05/22) Last day Feb 20/22 My son **** was going to this school; however, he got very sick and missed a lot of classes.I have had conversations with the Financial Aide Officer by email only.I am getting nowhere unfortunately, and the school is adamant that ************* the full 17.000.00 (now with ****** Student Loans). Initially they were going to take **** back to class when he was well enough to return, however, the Financial Aide Officer retracted at a later date stating that they would NOT take him back because he would "take the place of a paying student".I have the agreement form that was signed and the attendance record. He only attended the school for approximately 33% of the time yet they claim it was 57%. He actually missed 41 days of school in combination due to his illness with kidney stones, surgery, sepsis and recovery. I have all the medical records pertaining to his absence. I strongly believe that the school has falsified records stating that he was in attendance at school on Feb 20/22, when he simply went in person to talk to an instructor one of those days and did not return to class.I had to move my son back to ******* (I live in ******) as he could not afford to live in ****** anymore. And then move him back to ******* as he could not secure a job or a place to rent. Now my son is basically homeless with a low paying job and out $17,000.00 with no education. I do not feel this is fair at all considering my son being very sick. Also, they have kept the tools that he paid for in the amount of $1490.00 and the books he paid for in the amount of $355.00.In the last email from the school, they offered to take **** back to fall classes 2023. This is not possible now.My hope is that Automotive Training Centre will adjust the bill to reflect my son only being in their school for 33% of the time. I feel it is fair that they refund the other 66% of the money.
