Taux d'intrt trs intressants. (Le taux du compte-pargne accessible en tout temps est toujours au moins deux points et demi plus haut que celui de *********** ******* courtois et dans un excellent franais. L'attente peut tre longue pour parler un agent mais il suffit de laisser un message et on nous rappelle dans l'heure, habituellement. J'ai dj fait une demande pour laquelle je m'attendais un refus et ma grande surprise, on m'a accommod. 1 starI was gifted "The Perfect Gift" card but its 's far from what the name should be! Its a **** essentially unless you use it immediately. Apparently, simply via purchase, you are agreeing to them ******** the equivalent of your purchase if you do not use it within a year -- despite the "expiry" date being much longer than that. Completely misleading and deceitful and 100% should be illegal. Its absolutely allowing ******** from the average citizen. No signature was required or other form of agreement or anything highlighting the fact you are on a time limit to keep your own money. Ridiculous made up charges. Yes its written in the terms that there is a maintenance fee but its says after activation - that is easily interpreted as after you begin using it AND a claim that "Funds never expire"!! I find this utterly unacceptable and I believe it is illegal in other places. Its time for it to be made illegal across the board. People are hurting enough in todays economy without having gifts stolen from them -- by *************** corporations I might add. Violation of rights going on that needs more light shed on is an understatement. You should be ashamed People's "Trust" and perhaps ** and **** too if they are wiling partners!Review fromDouglas M

This is the 2nd time that I have had an issue with this bank. Nobody can answer a question and the simply offer by way of explanation that this is procedure and that a hold on my funds wont be released until Nov. 30 when the issue arose on Nov.21st. I explained that this hold was unacceptable so I request an official complaint and was finally sent an further explanation that their complaints process, step 1 takes 14 days. My financial issue is one where time is of the essence and nobody seems in the least interested in helping me out.As other reviewers have pointed out they appear to do everything in their power to delay & block transactions and hold on to your funds for as long as they legally can. Last March I was unable to utilize the option for a call back, ended up waiting on the phone for hours only to get dropped. Then the part on their website, to contact them, well forget that, the message wont go when you hit the submit button or you get a message that only numbers, letters, commas and periods can be usedso I removed any characters that werent those for things, AND it still didnt submit.I am so through with Peoples. ********* is by far a better online choice.Peoples Trust Company, part of Peoples Group

Je suis cliente depuis plusieurs annes chez Peoples jai toujours reu auparavant un excellent service et en franais en plus! Mais depuis 3 semaines je te tente de les joindre et impossible de parler qui que ce soit. Jattends interminablement sur les lignes, je laisse des messages, des courriels et personne ne me rpond ou ne me rappelle. De plus, mon compte en ligne a t bloqu alors je nai plus accs mes fonds, je suis extrmement inquite! Que se ***se-t-il? La banque est-elle en difficult? Sont-ils en train de bloquer les transactions? Jai un placement qui arrive chance dans quelques jours et je ne suis mme *** capable de donner mes instructions!Du jamais vu chez Peoples!Je me demande srieusement si par scurit il ne vaudrait *** mieux que je me retire!

I have been a customer for several years at Peoples and have always received excellent service before, and in French too! But for 3 weeks I've been trying to reach them and I can't talk to anyone. I wait endlessly on the lines, I leave messages, emails and no one answers me or calls me back. In addition, my online account has been blocked so I no longer have access to my funds, I am extremely worried! What is going on? Is the bank in trouble? Are they blocking transactions? I have an investment that is due in a few days and I can't even give my instructions! Unheard of at Peoples! I seriously wonder if for safety it would not be better that I withdraw!

Been trying for the past 6 months to get a statement of accounts to settle an estate. I am starting to suspect that they do not wish to relinquish funds and thus are using delay tactics. Like other reviewers here it is very difficult to get someone to speak to and they leave you hanging on the robocall till it finally disconnects saying all the operators are busy. Recently I was attracted by the great GIC rates of People ************** and submitted all required information to People ************** to open an account. After 10 days waiting, I still have not receive my initial account information. I sent emails to this bank but no response. I called the customer services in morning, afternoon and all the possible windows but no one responded at all. Terrible customer service! GICs automatically renew unless you call them but they won't answer their phone and they won't return your calls. I have the same feedback as reviewer ********** on Feb 16. There is absolutely no way to reach them and I cannot access my online account. 2 emails over the past 3 weeks have gone ignored. Endless attempts and wait times of over ************************************* disconnects. There is no way to leave voicemails. I simply need to reach them to access my account and transfer my funds elsewhere at this point. Not worth the additional interest.
