My family and I have been loyal customers of Midas *** ****** for 15 years, but since the recent management change, the service has declined significantly. In February, I took my vehicle in due to squeaking rear brakes. Midas recommended a full rear pad and rotor replacement, plus a seized caliper replacement. I agreed and was charged $***. The next day, my brakes momentarily failed in traffic, forcing me to slam them repeatedly to avoid a collision. The squeaking returned, so I scheduled a follow-up. The next day, a coworker noticed my rear brakes had no pads. Alarmed, I went to Midas, where they admitted the mechanic likely installed them incorrectly and promised to fix it. As they worked, they claimed the caliper had seized again, meaning I wouldn’t get my vehicle back that day. I was left stranded with no way home or to work. I called General Area Manager James ******** who initially acknowledged the issue, promised to investigate, and asked for patience. A month passed with no follow-up. When I called him, he dismissively said, “There’s nothing I can do. We fixed our mistake, and if you think you’re getting your money back, there’s no chance.” I was shocked—not only because of his attitude but because I never asked for a refund. I simply wanted reassurance this wouldn’t happen again. After 15 years of loyalty, I am incredibly disappointed. The lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable. ** ****** **** *** **** ****** **** ** ******** *** **** *** ****** ** **** ******* * ******** **** ** ** *******

I am filing a complaint against Midas regarding multiple misdiagnoses and unnecessary repairs performed on my vehicles. I brought my 2014 Chevrolet Cruze in to repair a coolant leak. Midas misdiagnosed the problem and performed a series of unnecessary repairs, including replacing a hose, thermostat sensor, and radiator. During this process, they caused the cooling fan to malfunction and the coolant to continue leaking. After two months of failed repairs, they informed me the head gasket is blown, requiring extensive engine repairs costing approximately $****. Midas acknowledged misdiagnosing the problem and causing damage to my car. Despite this, they refused to repair the vehicle *** ***** ***************** ***** ******** ******* *** ************* They offered a partial refund of $**** for the previous repairs, which in no way covers the damage they've caused. I want my car to get fixed. Additionally, I entrusted Midas to address a service stabilitrak issue on my 2015 Chevrolet Camaro. They replaced the throttle body but the problem returned within 10 minutes. Midas then replaced the accelerator pedal to no avail. I had to tow the vehicle back again, and they attributed the issue to a loose throttle body, which they tightened. This introduced abnormal vibrations in the car. I pointed out their misdiagnosis and the concerning vibrations. They then admitted neglecting to program the throttle body with the car's ECU. *** ******** **** ************ **** ****** **** **** ******* ** ***** ******* ** ** *********** ******** ****. After multiple visits, tows, and discussions with a rude *** ******** ****** manager, the issue remains unresolved. They replaced the throttle body a second time with a non-ideal part. The car still vibrates abnormally. These repeated misdiagnoses and unnecessary repairs on both my vehicles *********** * ********** ******** ****** ******* have cost me money, time, and have potentially caused further damage to my vehicles. I demand they take full responsibility, repair the head gasket damage on my Cruze at no cost, correctly address the vibration and rpm issue (which was not thier in the first place) in my Camaro by propelry fixing the issue.

On February 23,2024, I called to ask how much changing the front brake line would cost. I was given a rough estimate of ***+ dollas. I asked if it would be done the same day. As it is a minor repair replacing the front brake line. He said probably. It was delayed until the next day (no issue) and when i went to pick it up, the mechanic mentioned they couldnt bleed the last rear brake.since I had only asked for the front line to be replaced, and it was drivable when I brought it in- I knew it wouldnt have needed to have the entire sysyem bled. But I didnt know they had done an entire brake line flush-WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION, which now required my entire system to be bled. Getting my bill, it says "not safe to drive" without replacing the entire rear drum brake. Since the extra work was done without my notification or authorization, I think they are responsible for the expense of the now required work. Whether to replave the rear drim brake, or bleed the rear line properly.

I went to Midas in December 2022 for brand new tires and installation. I went on a road trip with my family (including my toddler), and I had to get my vehicle checked due to noises coming from the wheels. The mechanic diagnosed my vehicle and said that if I didn’t stop, my wheels could have fallen off and we would have rolled over. The mechanic said that my wheels were not properly tightened or installed right, it caused significant damage to my rim, two rotors, my hub assembly, and I needed my brake pads done as well, however I am asking for reimbursement for everything except for what can be normal wear and tear. The business has yet to get back to me and I cannot wait as I needed to take out a high interest loan to cover the $**** it cost to fix the issue.

********* * ***** ****** **** ***** ********* Over the summer, my dad took his car to the Midas Henderson location to get some work done. Soon after this, he was driving about 30km/h through a construction zone when one of the tires on his car CAME OFF. A third party mechanic with no association to Midas as well as Midas themselves examined the damage and both came to the conclusion/admitted that the Midas mechanic DID NOT TIGHTEN THE TIRES PROPERLY. Luckily this happened while he was driving so slowly ******* ** **** **** ***** *** ****** ** ******** ***** Midas was supposed to offer my dad a settlement, and since this happened months ago they’ve repeatedly given him the runaround, cancelled meetings he was supposed to have regarding a settlement, and ignored him thinking that he’ll just let it go. When to Midas auto service on May 22/2022, to get my spark plug replace because one the cylinders was misfiring. So they said they have to do a diagnostic test. They later told me one of the engines code cylinder 3 was having a problem. So I said go ahead and replace it but, also wanted him to provide me written quote on the cost but he did not provide. They did some repair without my Authorization and charge me for it. They also Damage the ignition coil plug and will not take full responsibility for the damage and they wanted me to pay for the damage they did. Over charges me total bill 1245.80 just for 6 spark plug and one ignition coil stating took 3 hrs. Later found out they replaced the new Ignition coil in the wrong cylinder and was told it better for the engine but in my case I think they trying to******** charge me for the high labour's cost and for two Diagnostic test that clarify wasn't need. Talk to the manager on the phone and told him the problem and he hung up on me.
