      We purchased a water softener and was installed by Atlantic water treatments in 2018 at the price of $2518.50. This water softener never functioned properly, initial installment caused our pump to lose the prime in our well . The service man from Atlantic water treatment company suggested we install a submersible pump, within a year the pump died , the likely source during the softener cycle, draw of water was too forceful, when questioned Atlantic service comment was they never heard of this. Our water was never softened properly , several calls and no improvement. Within the last year we had the water tested by another company the raw sample is the same as after the cycle, I called to tell Atlantic water treatment company owner to inform them. For over three years we have called several times and spoken to the owner , we were told full replacement with another unit , given dates and a no show by this company . On follow-up conversations this company always had an excuse like: we didn't have a vehicle: didn't have service person: etc. This company made promises, gave their “word” and did not show up. I question the BBB rating of this company as A+, or that this is an accredited company. The customer service is unacceptable, the warranty on this water softener was never fulfilled for us.

      Dear sir or Madame;
      In regards to the water softener which was installed Dec21,2018 (5 years old). Because of the age of this softener and issues with the well, we are reluctant to replace it. The customer was told that they have issues related to their well pump & the well itself. This should be dealt with before anything should be done with the well.
      This condition will cause the existing pump to lose prime. Test results will also show no improvement to the hardness of the water operating at these conditions. The raw water hardness is nearly 80 grains per gallon.
      Yes we will at our expense replace the water softener with a new unit but I do caution the customer and BBB that unless they solve issues with the well, their problems could continue.
      In spite of their reluctance to deal with well problems unrelated to the existing softener, I do wish this customer success. We will also continue to help with the replacement unit as long as improvements are made to the well.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 18812506, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Only on condition that replacement or financial compensation occurs. As previously discussed with Mr. *****, we did have a submersible pump installed in 2019, which required a motor replacement within one year, The likely cause was the Atlantic water treatment water softener draw of the water setting was too forceful on the pump. The water company questioned why the service personnel at Atlantic Water treatments had settings on the softener to cause the draw so forceful to loose the prime in the well. We have a submersible pump for our well.
      We would require immediate replacement of the softener within a specified date, or financial compensation.
