TL;DR AVOID AVOID AVOID. The advertised price is not the price you're going to pay. They list their vehicles lower than market value to attract potential buyers, only to hit you with $2000 premium package when you checkout. Very deceptive and dishonest company. I placed a hold and paid a $100 deposit on a car I like. Price was below market value so that attracted me. Once I placed the deposit, someone from Clutch contacted me and told me that I cannot see the car or test drive it unless I opt in for the premium package for an extra $2000. If I don't opt in for the premium package, there is no way you will be able to test drive, or even see the car before finalizing the deal. Who in their right mind will do that? They also use rush sales tactics to get you to submit all documents within a very unreasonable timeframe. My sales "manager" (BTW, everyone is a sales manager) asked for proof of insurance and bank draft by 10:30am the following business day. But I don't have to do that if I opt in for the $2000 premium package. You see where this is going? Overall very bad experience with Clutch, I felt cheated and conned. I heard it wasn't like this until earlier this year.Review from Beth W

Stay away from this company! The purchase process was ok until I tried to enact the 10 day ‘return for any reason policy’ which you pay $2000 for. Sales Agents don’t respond and ghost you, and the male ‘’management’ is terrible. I turned my purchase return over to lawyers. Clutch *****!Review from Hilary P

Awful experience, we went through all the steps to get the vehicle, which took a whole day, went to bank to get a certified cheque, got insurance set up, uploaded all documents, etc, they told us multiple times that everything was good to go, we even electronically signed for it, and drove an hour to the location to get the car, only to have them tell us once we got there that the car didn’t pass their ”final inspection” and so we couldn’t get it. wish they could have told us that before they wasted all our time. For all our time and trouble they only offered us a $200 credit towards if we buy something from them. What a joke. So they apparently have vehicles posted for sale that aren’t even fit, but they don’t figure that out until you arrive to pick it up. They also lied to us throughout the process, telling us we would be able to see the vehicle before final release of funds, but turns out we would have had to pay an extra $2000 if we wanted to be able to see or return the vehicle. This company is a complete waste of time, I’m just glad we dodged a bullet and didn’t end up buying from them.Review from Lindsay d

We took a chance to purchase a vehicle through Clutch and have regretted it ever since. Right away were charged $1000 more because we were paying cash and not financing. When we picked up the vehicle, the smell inside was awful and got worse each day. It actually smelled like an animal had multiple accidents and it wasn't properly cleaned. By day 6 the check engine light and auto start/stop warning light came on so we initiated a return. When we brought the vehicle in, we were expected to hand over the keys and walk away with nothing. No paperwork to sign, nothing confirming we had returned it, no receipt. The rep finally agreed to send us an email confirming the return and said we would receive the return bill of sale within a few hours. After a few hours we got a call from someone else saying it had to go through a mechanical inspection first to confirm we didn't steal any parts, that's actually what she said to us, and the return bill of sale would be sent to us in a few days. Still nothing to confirm our return at this point. Every rep we spoke with had a different set of rules and excuses we hadn't heard yet and all of them were very disrespectful. The terms and conditions website for the 10 day return policy that was included on the bill of sale is not a valid website address so there's nowhere we can even see all these conditions on paper. We're still waiting for the return bill of sale and are sick to our stomachs waiting for it and the refund to come through. Save yourself the headache and stress and stay away from this company.Review from James T

I sold my 2022 ***** Accord on Clutch a few days ago and it was a fantastic experience. Super easy and I was honest with disclosure so I got exactly the price I was quoted. No games, no haggling and my money was electronically deposited by the time I got home. It was so much better than going to a dealership or selling privately. I would definitely use Clutch again.Review from Barry F

On Aug 24/24, my wife and I placed a $100 deposit on a vehicle on CLUTCH which was verified to hold the vehicle. CLUTCH responded on Aug 24/24 to direct us to "Next Steps" online to continue the purchase, including financing steps. We completed the steps including an estimation of the trade-in value of our current vehicle towards the new vehicle. At no time was a Lien Buyout confirmation requested. On August 31, 2024, CLUTCH Representative confirmed vehicle would be transported from their location in Ontario to their Bedford NS offices to arrive Sept 4/24; and at the same time confirming Financing approval. On September 4, 2024, we completed the online BILL of SALE with CLUTCH, which confirmed purchase and delivery expectations from Toronto ON to Bedford NS. However, later that day the CLUTCH Representative emailed us to say delivery of the vehicle was delayed until Sept 5, 2024. On Sept 4/24, the CLUTCH Rep called us to say there was an issue with the trade-in estimate we provided; he said, "I made a mistake" in not verifying the estimated value when I submitted financing documentation to the lender, CIBC. As a result, the original bi-weekly payment would have to be increased by around $20, to which we reluctantly agreed. The CLUTCH Rep called again on Sep 4 saying they were attempting to make the deal still work and suggested removing the cost of the extended warranty as well as another $500 fee but it still left difference of $1100.00, which we would be required to pay. On Sept 4, we informed the CLUTCH Rep we cannot afford that added expense along with removing the peace of mind of an extended warranty on a 7-year old vehicle and so we are now out on the purchase and requested our deposit returned. The REP confirmed we would get the $100 deposit refunded but NOT the $499 plus tax delivery fee. The error falls with CLUTCH for not verifying all submitted information before commencing a financing approval. We demand FULL REFUND of the delivery fee of $573.85.Review from Kim I

The customer representative cancelled our deal without our permission or consent and hung up on us. We were merely asking about paying for the car outright and why we weren’t eligible for a better loan rate. We make very good money and have excellent credit so were puzzled why we wouldn’t qualify for the best rates. We were told they dodn’t want us to pay a large deposit and finance for a short time!Review from Gabba D

Worst buying experience in a lifetime when purchasing a motor vehicle. I found the sales rep misuse to seem desperate she added a $9600. After market Warranty package without permission and refused to cancel after we complained. She did not provide the financing information for 3 months after receiving the vehicle? Just incompetent and intentionally trying to pad the deal leaves a sour taste. Escalated to their owners issue still has $200 they assured me I would be refunded outstReview from Kurtis S

Clutch.ca is to car buying as ****** was to book purchases 20 years ago--a completely new, innovative way to making such transactions that is cheaper, better, and destined to become the new standard for most buyers. It is on-line based, and simple to use. Designed around enhancing the customer experience, Clutch eliminates most of the stress of buying a car by providing more inventory, at lower prices, without the negotiations of a middleman striving to maximize profit in an environment where you invariably lack all the information required to make an informed decision. This process is upfront, data informed, and removes needless negotiations. In my case, I was able to purchase a vehicle, trade-in a vehicle, and sell a third vehicle all in one simple transaction. Overall, I saved several thousands from what dealerships would offer for my vehicles, and almost as much for the nearly new SUV I purchased! This new company is going to be a disrupter in the car industry. All should explore the potential of Clutch
