On April 7, 2024 I accepted an offer for a 30 day trial with a refund in full if I cancelled with the 30 days. Immediately after accepting the offer I was offered to add additional services to my subscription for an additional sum. I accepted that offer also and paid both the initial and upgraded subscription fees assuming they were both on a 30 day trial basis. I didn't read the Terms of Services which apparently said that by accepting the upgrade I was forfeiting the free trial period. I emailed a request to cancel within the 30 days and they refused to give me a refund. There promotion strategy is obviously designed to to lure and deceive potential customers.

At The Motley Fool, we strive to be transparent about our policies, including the non-refundable terms associated with some of our services.

This information is provided on the order page and in our Subscription Terms of Service to ensure our members can make informed decisions before finalizing their purchases.

As a one-time, goodwill gesture, I have issued a refund of the original membership fee to Stock Advisor Canada and the upgrade fee to Epic Bundle.

However, should Mr. ****** resubscribe to Stock Advisor Canada in the future he will not be eligible to receive a refund on this service or any upgrades.

    Kind regards,

The Motley Fool Canada provides a 30-day membership fee back guarantee on our Stock Advisor Canada service.

However, our Subscription Terms of Service state:

If you previously subscribed to a service, cancelled and subsequently subscribe again, you will not receive a refund for any cancellations.

This member previously purchased the service back in 2018 and cancelled within 30 days and received a full refund of their membership fee. They purchased the same service again in 2021 and was not eligible to receive a refund the second time, but one was issued as a goodwill gesture and the member received a full refund of their membership fee. In 2024 the member purchased again but this time was denied a refund and a detailed explanation was provided as to why the member was not eligible to receive a third refund.

I have issued a full refund for the third time for this member. However, please note that should they decide to return to the Stock Advisor Canada service as a member in the future, they will be not be eligible for a refund of this service.

    Kind regards,

Was charged for a subscription renewal although I cancelled several times several month before the renewal time, send them emails to delete all my data twice and still was charged. I even contacted my CC company few month ago to block this merchant but they refused, I replaced my CC with an new card but unbelievably was charged by **** even with no new CC info at Fool.com web site Why I can't cancel a subscription on their web site (renewal, not active)? Why I cant delete mt CC info from their web site? - no way to do it Why when asked them several times and followed their process to delete all my data it's still on their site? I want a refund. (attached emails with me requesting to delete my info) Also I opened a dispute with me CC company (****) but they are as bad as Fool.com I still get emails from them on a daily basis - unsubscribe dosn't work The worst company that is allowed to operate. P.S. **** is not better but I would like you to deal with Fool.com Thank you.

Member was fully refunded as requested, with explanation as follows:

    Hello ******,

I'm sorry that the renewal of your Hidden Gems subscription came as a surprise. The agreement to auto-renewal was stated in the order confirmation email we sent when you originally subscribed.

And we did send you an "advance notice of renewal" email one month prior to your renewal date, perhaps it was intercepted by your spam filter?

But it’s not a problem, I have cancelled and fully refunded your membership fee, as requested.

Your BBB complaint has been addressed. Do note, you've not once emailed us here at [email protected] to request cancelation. You've been corresponding with fool.com, our U.S. operation, and as per your screen captures they've assisted as you'd requested. Had you emailed us, we'd have done the same without fuss.

    Have a lovely day,
