    I used Rick to install my heat pumps over 8 years ago so this is a long term review. Cunning energy has been fantastic to deal with from the initial visit to 8 years later for service. Rick had his guys at.my house whenever I had an issue which was very seldom of course. He stands behind his product and he does honour his warranty. I have recommended Rick on numerous occasions and I would definitely use his services again.

    We recently had Rick from Cunning Energy assist us with converting our heating system from oil to heat pump. We had a great experience with him and I would definitely recommend him and his company - all staff we dealt with were professional and knowledgeable. Rick was easy to reach by phone and very responsive to any questions we had throughout and after the install. We had estimates from 3 companies for the same work and of these 3, Rick definitely stood out as spending quality time with us with in-depth explanations of options, processes, government grants available etc compared to the other 2 company reps that took 5-10 minutes to give us a quick quote and hardly any info. Happily the Cunning Energy quote was significantly less than the other 2 quotes we got and the final bill was exactly what Rick quoted. I would have probably gone with his company even if the quote had ended up being higher than the other companies because I felt I could trust what he told me and that he could be relied upon. Our house needed an electrical upgrade to accommodate the heat pump and his company took care of everything, electrical upgrade, removal of oil tank, changing hot water heater to electric as well as the heat pump install.     Hi Rebecca, Thank you so much. I've seen the Maritime heat pump industry change over the last 42 years. So many companies. So much junk. So many complaints about shoddy work.     We were initially very impressed with **** Cunning and his business. He took the time to meet with us and answer all of our questions, and we were pleased with our new ducted heat pump/furnace installation. However, we had also discussed his company working to fix our old ductless heat pump unit. Other companies had said they would likely need to replace this unit, and so we wanted to try the repair option first. We repeatedly attempted to connect with him via email, phone and text regarding getting this work done, without success. We received one response telling us to call him rather than email, something which we had already previously tried. He did eventually call once after several months, but did not try again after he didn't reach us. I still have no heat in my home office, other than a plug-in heater. Our understanding was also that his company would be contacting Energy Nova Scotia once the work was done, to let them know that we were ready for the next energy inspection to qualify for the rebate. This did not happen (again, despite several messages being left), and we ended up doing this ourselves. Unfortunately, it seems that, once he had our money, he had no interest in making sure that he followed up and met our other needs. The furnace was replaced in May, and so we have waited more than 6 months for a satisfactory response. I am sitting unhappily in my cold office typing this review.

    We quoted the customer on a furnace replacement. We installed a ducted heat pump to replace the old oil furnace. The house had a very old ductless mini-split heat pump in it that had been installed by another company years ago. It had obviously failed at some point, as one of the two indoor wall units had been completely removed. The customer asked me about possibly repairing it or replacing it. One of the wall units was still working and served a small home office. I informed the homeowner that we could take a look at the old unit when we replaced the heating system, but could not promise that the unit would be able to be repaired or re-used. I did not look at the unit. The customer agreed to this. When we installed the new full house heat pump system my head tech looked at the old ductless unit and informed the homeowner that it would not be cost-beneficial to try and repair it, and to just keep on using it to cool the office. I was initially given a home phone number that turned out to be disconnected. Any confusion over the rebate application could have been resolved by asking the home energy audit company or Efficiency Nova Scotia, as it is the homeowner's responsibility to file the correct paperwork for rebates. We remain here to service the customer as we do all of our customers. We would be happy to re-visit the possibility of repairing the old mini-split heat pump, as it has apparently stopped working completely if the office is cold. I hold out little hope of repairing the old unit, though we would look at it to see if there's anything that could be done. Again, I sincerely doubt it. Hopefully this clarfies our position, and we remain willing and able to provide this customer service on the new system we installed throughout it's life. **** ******* We stand by our work, as we always have, and would sti
