Driveway Paving Contract entered on June 19, 2022. Excavated within few days in same month. Asphalt was poured on Oct 20,2022. Found surface cracks and grass growing out from middle of driveway. Notified through email and followed up with several phone calls. All calls go through Antonette and she has standard answer, “I will let Sal know, he will take care of it”. No body came to take care it. The paving work has one year warranty on it. Their website says address as *** ********** **** ****, Brampton, when I visited this place the Stone Ridge paving does not exist. They’re using a mail box at this location and actually operate out of their home (somewhere). * **** ************ *** ********** *******. Totally disappointed with their poor quality job.

I have seen the pictures and clearly the driveway has certain weeds growing through it,  The complainants' issue of weeds does not fall under the Warranty of one.  According to the Section entitled Warranty and Terms of Contract row #3 states "Damages caused by the client's negligence including gasoline and oil spills, weeds, tree roots, tire marks, denting ...is not covered".

Unfortunately we cannot assist this client.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This is another way of evading responsibility by the Stone ridge paving company. When a client signs a contract with the company there’s an element of trust and good faith, however the company chose to respond with a loophole clause which says “weeds” are not covered by warranty. I would argue, yes weeds are not covered, but I’m not complaining about weeds it’s “Grass”! Your loophole clause does not say “all plants”. This problem was caused due to inefficient paving process and leaving the pavement exposed to elements for a prolonged period of 4 months and not eliminating grass before paving.

    Sincerely,

    ****** *******

In June or July of 2021, Stone Ridge paving put in a new asphalt driveway at my residence. The paving is supposed to be guaranteed for a year. In April 2022, I noticed a crack in the driveway and have communicated with Stone Ridge in the following ways: Text - Apr 12: Identified there was a crack and that the repair would be under warranty. Texted a picture as well. The response I got the same day was "Definitely next month". Text - May 16: No response Text - May 26: No response Call - Jun 3: Not sure who I spoke to but the lady said the repair would happen when pavers were in the area. Text - Aug 2: No response Email = Aug 3: No response During this time, I have believe that Stone Ridge has replaced a couple of driveways in my general area but still nobody has come to repair mine. I am tired of the lack of communication and responsiveness to my inquiries.

Had work done on the exterior of our home 2021 May-July of paving and exposed aggregate. 2 weeks after completing the work we noticed a crack caused by their machine in their work on the driveway. We took pictures and requested their return to view and repair the crack. They stated and promised to return in 2 weeks and even after weekly calls over the months until Fall they have simply ignored our calls. The parging also is coming apart on the porch steps and so 2022 April 11 I began the calls and website messages to address these issues. Still no response.

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/05/24) */ We will look into the matter as soon as possible. We will try our best to make the client happy. Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/05/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) ********************************** They have no intention to contact myself and return to repair what needs to be repaired. I have sent pictures and called since the job completion in 2021. They know what needs to be done and simply keep saying they are coming since last year June!!!!!!! This is ridiculous and more should be done! ******************************************** *****************************************. This is unnecessary stress. Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2022/06/05) */ We are sorry for get the client feels that way. We are not ignoring them. When we are in the Vicinity we will look after the issue. Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2022/06/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) There appears to be no solution by the response and clearly further dishonesty. We have had to go ahead with resealing the exposed concrete as it was poorly done and other 2 companies identified the sealing done by Stoneridge was poorly done. Home owners have had to go ahead with resealing and pay for a company to do so. Stoneridge had not acted in good faith and we are quite disappointed with their customer service behaviour. Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2022/06/06) */ This is the first time that we are hearing about sealing issues. To clearly state with exposed aggregate or stamped concrete yearly sealing is required for maintenance reasons. This is not a warranty issue. However, to show the client that we had good intentions we are willing to give $200 to them to help with their sealing cost. Consumer Response /* (4200, 17, 2022/06/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) As our family has endured enough stress and Stoneridge had ample time to act in good faith and DID NOT. We prefer to move onward at this time. We have already paid and doubt Stone ridge will fulfill any "promise" going forward. This is a stressful time for our family and this has added to it. The act of going this route was aimed to resolve the matter, though we thought it would not amount to much. ******************************************************************************** . The case may be closed as we don't wish to have any further contacts with Stone Ridge. Good day
