We have had a booking with Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ottawa Downtown East on 11 Jul 2022 for 2 nights. ******* ********* ****** *** *********  On arrival, we found that the hotel is right next to a homeless shelter. We were followed by a homeless asking for money. The hotel has 2 doors, one facing the street and one facing car park. Ridiculously, the hotel sealed the one facing the street so that all customers has to walk longer distance and being followed a longer distance. We booked for 4, after the follow incident happened 2 of us decided to book another hotel.  On the second day, breakfast was awful. Staff do not offer vegan milk to us because we “not likely to be allergic. A white lady asked another staff the same thing and was given one. The second night, we found that there were no room service at all. No one at front desk answer calls at evening 6, 6:30, 7 and finally someone answered at 8. They said they do not offer room service. Why did this not indicated? Not even any booking websites. In Canada if you are not providing regular services then you have to state clearly. We went to the front desk twice and there were no one. No room service means towers are not replaced, soap and lotion not refilled. No toilet paper refills and can’t bath or shower. The hotel tell us there will be no room service at night and we need to contact them next day for complain. Basically we cannot stay there without bathroom utilities. Front desk told us if we wanted to check out early we have to contact the hotel office next morning 6am. We have to stay in another hotel for bath and all sort of cleaning and toileting.  Based on these multiple incidents we request the hotel to provide a Full refund, base on the second night for the room issue and the first night for the safety issue.
