This business is recommending on the government of Canada website for credit reporting... They signed me up for a monthly paid service without my consent. I filled out my information to get a free credit report and without going through any sort of purchase or conformation screen I ended up being charged around $20 a month on November 3 December 3 and January 3. I have no idea how this practice is legal let alone recommend by the government.

On October 31st, 2021, I signed up for an account with TransUnion Canada in order to check my credit score. When I signed up for this account I was aware of the $21.15 fee TransUnion would charge. However, what I was unaware of was that the $21.15 fee was not a one time payment. Rather, TransUnion, without due care to caution the customer, was signing me up for a monthly subscription to their service. As such, on December 1st, 2021, and January 1st, 2022, I was charged an additional $21.15. TransUnion did not make it clear at any point in the sign up process that they would silently move me to a subscription based service. TransUnion does in fact state on their signup page that there is a subscription based service, but this information is tucked away in the small print disguised as an ad. Additionally, in the receipt of the original purchase there is no information that states it is a reoccurring charge. I am filing this complaint with the BBB against TransUnion today because I believe TransUnion is purposely deceiving customers by not adequately disclosing the service TransUnion is subscribing them to. The resolution I seek the help of the BBB in achieving is a refund of $42.30, the sum of the December and January charges I was subscribed to without my informed consent. In addition, I would like TransUnion to make this information more apparent. In my brief research regarding these charges I have found numerous people complaining in online forums that they too were subscribed without their knowledge. *******************************************************************************************

I had default judgement against me from the small claims court. I had paid in full to the law firm that sued me afterwards. But transunion refuses to update the judgement as satisfied. I have sent the final release letter from the lenders lawyer to transunion also. The courts have stamped the release letter for meand I sent that also. That's all the courts can do for me. Transunion isn't correct on this. Please have them correct it. The lender has notified transunion of full payment and it is updated on the accounts section under ****** ***********. But they are refusing to mark it satisfied on the judgement. It is the same account. It is hindering my credit worthiness. Thanks

Hi there, I have been dealing with this issue for months and it's with my credit report from Transunion. I have disputed multiple accounts that are on my report countless times and they keep on insisting that the accounts are reporting correctly and I have contacted each and every collection account and also credit account that isn't mine and they have assured me that it is a mistake by the bureau and that it should be adjusted, after receipt of this information I placed a dispute online and then a month later I got a letter stating that the accounts are all reporting correctly. This was obviously not the case so I reached out to them again and they said that if I wanted to dispute anything on my credit report it would have to go through the Better Business Bureau. I also have an ******* credit file and they have removed every account that isn't mine all that is left there is the inquires that aren't mine, **************************************************************************************, the inconsistency of both reports are staggering as I do not have a single derogatory account on my ******* report and yet on my Transunion report there are at least 10 plus a ton of inquiries that were again not mine to begin with. Also I must add that I have never ever banked with *** **** of *** and I never had a car loan from ****** nor ***** before mine is with ******************** also my only phone line is **** and no one else, I also don't know what ************** even is or why it's on my report

Transunion unwittingly signed me up for a monthly subscription that I did not want. 8 months later I realized the charges and got them reversed, but they made it seem as if it were a negotiation. I got them to reverse all charges and was told I would receive a confirmation of cancellation in an email. I never got this email. I checked my spam folder and checked with TransUnion multiple times to make sure they had the correct email. I requested a cancellation email be sent, but they said since it is system generated they cannot manually send another one. I don't trust that they will not begin charging me again in the future, and so need this confirmation of cancellation in writing. Cancellation confirmation must be available to me. If their system fails then they need to be able to manually override it.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/01/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This response did nothing to resolve my complaint. I have not been contacted directly by Trans Union since my initial complaint was made. I still don't have confirmation of cancellation and their practices still do not allow certainty that customers will receive verification of cancellation. Also, the practice of negotiating their ********** charges rather than just admitting their fault and dropping them entirely shines a light on their acknowledgement that their business model relies of ********** charges. Trans Union merely mitigate the losses they take in response to complaints on a case by case basis, rather than changing their entire policy by automatically opting people into the ongoing charges.

I was trying to setup an account with TransUnion to monitor my credit rate on regular basis. I tried to resolve this from September 2020 and up till now, calling them more than 5 times, spoke with different agents, faxed explanation letter, and also sending mail twice, but the problems still couldn't resolved. As my name is similar to my sister's name, they had screwed the two profile at the starting, and afterward, my personal profile still couldn't set up properly and my credit rating had been dropped dramatically to 593 in Oct 2021, although I pay all my bills, credit card on time. This had been seriously affecting me as I was trying to grant a mortgage but with this low rating which purely errors from TransUnion, I can do nothing and couldn't make any correction.
