Was contacted by this company via email claiming that I owe $17847.66 for immediate collection from an old vehicle I had through **** ******* ******. I surrendered the vehicle over a year ago and nothing further was ever communicated to me that any further payment was owed as I surrendered the vehicle. There should be no reason for this company to contact me or have this on my credit report as this was settled well over a year ago with **** ******* ******.Business Response

We have received your BBB complaint. Our office received this matter from **** ******* ******. It seems you have some concerns with our client, and your complaint isn’t necessarily with our office. We reach out as a courtesy to let you know this has come into our office.
A voluntary surrender is technically defaulting on a loan and is therefore like a repossession. When you purchase a vehicle through financing, the loan contract provides you with the loan amount, including the financing fee and interest.
Had you contacted our office, the manager of your file would have explained everything to you.
Any remaining balance, once returned, would become a sales deficiency that you would need to repay. **** ******* should have notified you before sending it to Kingston Data and Credit for nonpayment.

I am writing to file a complaint regarding an unauthorized collection account that has recently appeared on my credit report. The account is associated with Kingston Data and Credit and reflects an amount of $727, dated June 27, 2023. I have never engaged in any financial transactions, borrowed money, or received any goods or services. I had no prior knowledge of any association with this company, and they have never contacted me via mail or phone regarding any outstanding debt or account. I am rejecting this response because: I fulled my contract and followed the guidelines on my contract to not renew our statis , why would I pay for a year for myself and my wife ( ****** ********** ****** who they also have a collection on her report ) for a whole year to not pay for 3 months. I did what was in the contract to not renew and once i seen they were still taking money out my account I contacted my home ******* ******* and I was told there was nothing they can do. I feel this is bad business and there should be an easier was for new customers to not renew they make hard for you to cancel by making you do unnecessary things to not renew and to cancel membership it makes no sense and when you follow protocol to not renew they can claim you did not and continue to take your money and when you fight back just throw a collection on your account......Please remove this off my report this is not right for myself nor my wife who is also affected by the collection we try to pay all our bills on time and in a timely matter this is just not right.
