1 starI've paid AGM over $70K for 1 days worth of work at my home. Contract was for kitchen renovation with walls coming down, beams and LVL's to be installed, footiing in basement to be added and kitchen cabinets. Today I heard from a contractor that AGM has filed for bankruptcy. Truly upset by the lack of integrity and professionalism on the part of AGM. I have not heard from them directly. *** **** *** *** ********* **** myself affected, *** * ****** *** ******** ********* **** warranties are also impacted. This is a tragedy. 1 starI used them about 12 years ago to renovate 2 bathroooms. They did a horrible job. The grout kept coming out from between the floor tiles, the caulking was untidy. The bathroom floor was not supported around the bathtub and you can still feel it moving up and down. The owner threatened to sue me if I made a bad review. I should have. I regret it so much because now people think they do good work and they don't.Review fromFatma N

1 star***** **** ******* * Unprofessional and Stressful Experience * ******** ****** ******* working with this company due to my highly frustrating and disappointing experience with their kitchen project management. From the very beginning, I made it clear that I did not want a specific QC, overseeing my project. Despite my explicit request, she remained involved, creating an incredibly difficult dynamic. My concerns were repeatedly dismissed, and at times, * **** ******* **** ********** ******* During a recent visit, The QC took it upon herself to contact contractors in my presence, forcing me into uncomfortable face-to-face interactions that should have been handled by quality control. Even more concerning, she submitted a 4-star review for herself while I was present, without my consent, completely bypassing my right to provide honest feedback. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Several major issues remain unresolved, including exposed pipes in the kitchen and damaged shelf edges. Additionally, I am extremely concerned about the security risks posed by contractors having access to my house key. There is no way to guarantee my family’s safety if a copy were to be made, especially if a contractor were to become upset over feedback. What makes this experience even worse is the lack of direct communication with management. I had to research on my own just to find the contact information for the people in charge, which is highly unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone who values professionalism, transparency, and customer respect.Review fromDouglas M

1 star* ***** **** ** **** *** **** ***** ** ** ******* *** ** ***** *** ** **** **** ****** I hired them to do a master bathroom remodel in Sept 2022 When we had our consultation with AGM via ****, she told us about their 45 day guarantee or they would pay $100/day that they went over. We were happy to hear about the guarantee. We wanted to wait until after the new year, but she talked us into getting started in Oct as should could give us a discount. Designer come out and get all of the measurements and picked out all our products. Then all contact stopped. We started getting some of the deliveries, but were not told about them or when they would be arriving. Large items delivered at the bottom of our driveway. Then it was excuse after excuse that they could not get started (designer was ill, no contractor, wait until after the holidays, etc.). Finally started in Jan 23, but the contractors would show up at random and mostly on the weekends. All kinds of mistakes with leaking water ruining the ceiling in the basement. Went through three teams that none of the workers spoke English. Finally got a decent one that had to redo all kinds of things. Took out the shower floor and found three floor joists that had been partially cut through to run the plumbing. Shower walls were opened and had studs that were cut in half and had 4” gaps. Took 9 months to complete the project and then told us that the 45 day guarantee with $100/day didn’t start until Jan 23 and our project was set up in Oct 22. Now a year later we find water leaking into our basement from the shower in Sep 24. Ruined ceiling in basement and water all over the place. Call in warranty and they come out and say there is a faulty part in the shower. 2 months have gone by and it is still not fixed and we are unable to use our shower. They say the part in out of stock. **** ** *** **** **** **** ******* ** ********* Worst customer service and no guarantee for their work! ** *** ** ******** **** **** ********Review fromMikeO

We live in San Jose, Ca. We wanted to get our bathrooms redone and hired AGM to do the job. We did this because they did the design and got all of the supplies to save us some of the work. It turns out that that AGM just hired any old contractor and the one person who actually worked for them seldom came by to look at the work. We are very worried about what is behind the walls that we could have missed. There were many issues both with getting what we paid for and getting them to finish the job properly. Many of the issues you could learn by watching a DIY show on TV but they had no clue how to do the job. An example was using grout to seal a fiberglass tub rather than caulking. They redid it 4 times and three different contractors to figure it out. I could go on and on with more issues. We have had them 6 or 7 times to fix problems. You also have to watch their work as they try and fix it just to make it work for a bit rather than fix the actual problem. On top of that they would say to do the final check off and the area was a mess with dust and grout all over (including the vanity) as well as the shower head mounted at a 45-degree angle and leaking badly from the fitting.MikeO

Our latest problem with AGM seems to be fixed for now. They came out and adjusted our shower door that was hitting the glass panel. This had been done before as well. The first time it lasted about 3 weeks before it started to sage again. They came back out quickly and adjusted it again. It has been about a week and a half so we will see if it lasts. I feel sorry for the person I am dealing with at AGM as they are under pressure about the review and it was reflecting poorly on their group and they wanted it taken down. I wish they would put in the same effort doing a job as they promised the first time rather than trying to get negative but accurate reviews taken down.Review fromChristopher R

Very fast. Kitchen looks great. Completed in 11 days. A few hiccups. Hood fan not centered over stove. Backsplash tile work not so great. Counter is perfect as well as the cabinets and sink. Island is perfect. I would suggest more input from the homeowner in design phase. A darker grout would have been a big improvement.AGM Renovations

AGM has not contacted me about replacing the backsplash. Turns out the plumber decided to do the backsplash when the tiler was on vacation. The tiling guy came by and he said he would have to redo the whole thing. Lesson learned. Don't get pushed into signing off on the job because someone else is in a hurry. Poor workmanship and business ethics AGM.Review fromAllan H

1 starAGM Renovations is a company I wouldn't recommend ** ** ***** ****** I wanted to renovate the two 8×6 foot bathrooms in my condo, and now completely regret the idea as well as ever hearing of — never mind hiring — AGM Renovations. Upon signing their contract, I discovered much to my surprise that I hadn't actually hired anybody. AGM doesn't appear to have anyone on staff who does actual reno work. Nor do they seem to be involved (or really want to be involved) in anything other than extracting permission to automatically withdraw installment payments from my account and placing the order for materials. The materials, by the way, were picked up from the supplier by one of their renovating contractors. Strange that there would be >300% markup on the retail price of materials that were never touched. I had anticipated a mark-up, but this was ridiculous. AGM also breached the terms of the contract that stipulated all plumbing would be done by a licensed plumber. Their first renovator installed a shower drain and, that very night after he was finished, that same shower drain backed-up and flooded the bathroom, closet, bedroom and hallway. It damaged my condo as well as the building's common hallway AND another unit. I needed his license number for the insurance paperwork, but didn't get anything because the man wasn't a licensed plumber. The lack of a plumber's license also meant that the condo building's insurance wasn't required to cover any of the damage. In all, there were three different contractors AGM sent to my condo and each was successively incapable and more inept than the previous. AGM deigned to charge me a bargain price of $80,000. $80k for a problematic reno with only tile, a tub with shower doors, a stand-up shower and a vanity. (Please note that toilets were not included — I had to pay for those separately.) The job was worth a max of 30k according to other renovators. I paid 89kReview fromBill D

Summary: The question at the end of any undertaking is would I do it again the same way. Would I go with AGM for our kitchen renovation? The answer is YES. We have at the end of the project, a beautiful kitchen, customized and detailed to our vision. It was years in the planning as a concept, but AGM made it happen. They were our guides, as experienced renovators, and they managed the process, the trades, and the final quality of work is great. It would not have happened without them. A Team Effort: It starts with you, the homeowner, and the better you understand your vision then the better that any contractor or guide will be able to fulfill that vision. Performing renovations requires a coordinated effort. When details need to be addressed, ** * **** **** **** ******* * ***** **** ** ****** ** ********** but with AGM, trades were very responsive and helpful and professional. The people that came to our house worked hard and sometimes for long hours. They earned my respect. Prepare for workers that might stay until 9pm, just to get work done, from a travel/efficiency perspective. However, they will respect personal boundaries. I had doors open by 7:30am daily. TEMPO: ‘Getting things done’. THIS is an AGM strong point. They ‘push’ to get work done. NO one gets paid until the final Sign-Off, and that is motivating. (Note: You do have to make installments for materials, etc. and there is a finance option if you do not have funds available but, be careful using financing – do your homework here too.) You need good, if not great professionals in their craft, which is difficult to find. We did not know anyone, so we needed a guide, AGM based on radio ads and radio shows, popped to the top of companies of interest to us. AGM manages the entire process, does the vetting for finding the best companies, managing their quality, delivery, and installation, and we needed this. A holistic solution (one stop shop). Be onsite, if possible, to answer questions.AGM Renovations

When my spouse and I moved into a new construction home, we knew the basement would eventually be finished. **** ** ***** *** ** **** ********* *** ***** ****** *** **** *** *** ***** ******** ***** *** ********** **** ** ***** ***** *** ** ***** * ******** **** **** *** **** ********** *** ********** **** ****** *** ***** *** *** **** **** ****** ** **** ****** *********** So, having dealt with contractors who never showed up, did shoddy work when they did, added on massive hidden fees, and leave items unfinished, finding a reputable company was a must for us. AGM fit that bill: it is large enough, fully insured, and we were given a no-obligation meeting with ******* to go over what to expect. AGM also assigned a project manager to us, *****, who was just such a joy to deal with. We got a call promptly from ****** regarding scheduling, and ***** showed up on site to go over the plan. Incredibly, the work started on the day promised, upgrades chosen were incredibly reasonable and available, and the project was finished by the promised date. We couldn't believe that the framers managed to do everything in one day, the electrical and plumbing were done the next day, and drywall started the day after. There were almost no days when no workers arrived, and they were incredibly courteous when present (none smoked on our property, they were quiet, and did not leave any messes indoors or outdoors). We needed a gym area, general walls/floors, and a bathroom, so we wanted the areas to be special. We now have a relatively large home spa of a bathroom with a 40 sq ft steam shower, the gym area fits our needs perfectly including installation of outlets for mounted TVs and Wall mirrors, and a yoga nook with colour-changing mood lighting. As a bonus, ***** helped us plan out an area for our little one with safety in mind and decorative wainscoting to make the area more grand! I cannot recommend AGM enough: the communication alone is reason to give them a call.AGM Renovations
