entered into an agreement to acquire rooftop solar system and be part of the Net Meter Project in December of 2021. Provided the initial deposit of $3500. to begin the process and have Sunwave begin the approval process to connect to ********** ***** Net metering system. This was completed on Jan 20, 2022. Notification from ********** ***** was sent to both Sunwave and me. I also called Sunwave to inform them I received the approval and prepare for next steps. The installation upon signing of the agreement was to be in March 2022. I never heard from Sunwave again until early July 2022 (around the 3rd). I was asked for the next portion of the deposit ($12,734.50) to arrange the next step. I discussed this with them and said I was not comfortable providing another payment until I had a firm install date. They wouldn't guarantee a date and just said mid-October. In Jan 2022 we had door to door salesmen show up asking if we would be interested in Solar panels, we agreed to listen to their presentation which occurred on Feb 5, 2022. We signed a contract to install panels with them on Feb 16, 2022 and gave them a void cheque so they could withdraw a deposit. On Feb 25, 2022 they sent someone out to do a site visit to review and ensure the install did not need any modifications. They took a deposit of $3500.00 on April 6, 2022 from our bank account. installation was to occur in June, I started calling the company at the end of April to get a timeline of when things would happen and was told someone would contact me in 2 weeks, 3 weeks later I called to get an update and was told I would get a call within 2 weeks, this cycle continued untill later aug when their phone number stopped ringing. They changed their phone number, I have been leaving daily messages (or close to) since mid Sept. Sept 7, 2022 I contacted ****** ******* ***** initiative to ensure this company did not apply for the $5600 grant which is available, they contacted me on Sept 28 saying they would look into it and requested I share all of the contracts and communication with them so they could investigate. Details: I am sending this information on behalf of my Senior Parents who this happened to at their house (I am their Daughter trying to help them) - Original Sales person came and sold the Solar Panels sometime in October 2021 (Sales Persons name was Kyle L.) My parents signed the agreement on October 27, 2021 - A 50% Down payment (Large amount of money) was given by a cheque from my parents and was cashed by Sunwave Solar on December 16th 2021 ($30,358.50) (I am in process of contacting my parents bank to try and get a copy of the cashed cheque) - They committed to install Solar Panels based on the drawings and specs provided. They said it would be done last year (as long as no snow on roof) of in the spring - They have not came to do the Solar Panels and are no longer replying to emails or phone messages. My parents have been patient and said they would still proceed if they just got back to them and came and installed them, but they have not so now we want to be refunded - They have done nothing to resolve the issue. They are not answering back to any form of communication. We had a sales rep from Sunwave come to our door in late March, 2022. We listened to his presentation and were impressed with what Sunwave had to offer. We reviewed all the information he provided, looked at Sunwave's website and reviews online, and were confident in moving forward. We signed an agreement April 1, 2022 to have Sunwave install a solar system on and in our house. We paid the initial deposit of $3,500 to start the process which included design and all the necessary permits, followed by confirmation of the agreement and paper work and a phone call from Sunwave head office in Toronto. A week later they came out to take measurements of our roof and attic and then after that everything was delayed. After one month passed, we called the Toronto office (as this was the number we were told to use) and were told in a couple weeks the process would start. They claimed supply issues or other problems as to why the delay. We continued to call every couple weeks and received the same answers. Sunwave has an office in Florida but the Canada head office is in Toronto, Ontario. Our service rep mentioned new offices in Calgary and Edmonton just opened up. There is an address for the office in Edmonton, not sure if they have closed their doors or not. We have tried calling, emailing them but no replies to either anymore. **** ******** *** ********* ********** ** *** ********* **** ******* *** *** *** ********* ***********. The number on the document to the Toronto office has changed. I found this out through our sales rep, who no longer works for Sunwave, and he gave me Sunwave's new number which is ###-###-####. may 10 of this year I responded to a door inquiry by a SunWave Solar employee about building solar panels on my home. As I was actually going to do this the sales call was timely and I entered into an agreement with SunWave solar to install. I put down a deposit of $600 and applied for financing for the rest thus saving a higher deposit. The sales person suggested this as I could pay in full (my preference) as construction started. myth a week I received a professional assessment of the panel locations and a contractor came to the house to do a site inspection to ensure home was suitable. This was the last contact I had with this company. In July called their service line and was told my project was in "engineering phase" and that panels were in short supply so there might be delays. I called again at end of August and got the same story. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I would get a call within days - no call I called every week same story. They finally admitted they were just a service line and communicated with Sunwave solar via direct messaging. I finally did get a sun wave person on the line and she said that she would look into thing that I should have gotten engineering drawings by now. She would look into it and call within 3 business days. NO call. I contact thecompany through which the financing was done "*********" they said the financing had been cancelled but the contract was listed with ***** **** ******* *** ** - a company located in Calgary. I called ***** **** and a nice lady in the office said that Sunwave and **** **** had the same owned and she would bring my concerns to the owner and get back to me. No response Sept 6 service line responded only that you need an extension number to get someone. Sept 9 the number is disconnected. Please see below for the email I have sent to this company. We purchased Solar from Sunwave in February of 2022 and to date the company has taken money but there have been zero progress on the project. Communication from the company is extremely poor/non existent. Good morning, After many calls to your company I have had zero response from you. This is disheartening for us and very unprofessional on your part. We have done everything required on our part but you have not held up your end of this deal. As such, am writing to cancel my solar project with Sunwave, effective immediately. Please refund me my initial deposit as well as any other fees that were subsequently paid/charged. Sunwave Solar representative reached out to me regarding solar panels installation and services. After reviewing the product we have established a contract for the product and sevices on 5th April, 2022 and submitted void chq. I paid the advance of $3,500 as per the contract on 21st of April, 2022. As per the contract they were supposed to complete the design and submit for approvals after getting approval from Milton Hysdro. They provide the information that they got the approval from ****** ***** on May 24th and I should be able to get the design approval by end of July. Since then I didn't get any update. I reached out to July end and they said they will get back to me in 15 days.. Since then their customer service number is non responsive. I am not getting any response for my emails either. A door to door sales person from Sunwave solicited the installation of a solar/grid system. The initial presentation and costs/savings touted were agreeable to me and my wife and we agreed to go forward with the suggested product. I signed a contract in June, 2022 to have a solar system installed on my home. It was supposed to have been a turnkey installation completed over the summer months (July, Aug, Sept). I provided a $600 deposit to begine work and applied for financing with one of their partner companies *********** to bankroll the equipment and project. After the initial meeting, contract signing, and withdraw of the deposit it was complete radio silence from Sunwave and the Finance company. Each time I called to get an update on the project I was told I would be contacted within a week with more information, the information updates never came. Recently when I called Sunwave at their listed number all I get is a voice recording saying "Please enter extension number". Now their listed number is dead. The sales rep we dealt with will not answer their phone, emails or texts. The financing we applied for with ********** was canceled for no reason and we have had no correspondence with anyone from Sunwave. Anyone I have been able to speak with is tight lipped, or have quite for unspecified reasons and will not elude to any reason why the company is seemingly non existent anymore.... No ******** or ******** pages are active or accessible. Sunwave Solar & I have signed a contract to have a Solar system installed on the roof of my house. A $3500.00 deposit was given to this company, A small amount of paperwork was done on their part, and nothing more has been done for almost 2 months now. I recently learned this company is having financial difficulties. I have tried contacting them on numerous occasions and with different phone numbers and have receive no response back.
